I'm surprised they haven't arrested anyone yet. A shooting in midtown and they know he left the city by bus but that hasn't been enough to find them.

If they go through the list of people who died due to policies being rejected recently that'll be a very long list. It'll be tens if not hundreds of thousands.

Maybe a disgruntled former employee? United Healthcare don't have the best record when it comes to hacking or people being hacked off with them...so many angles with this one, it seems personal yet paid professional yet amateur who planned well.
Let's see what the DNA from the water bottle and health bar wrappers etc brings up!

the inscriptions wouldn’t have pinpointed someone’s identity - it was “deny, defend, depose” (it’s an insurance industry phrase about not paying out claims basically).

tbh i doubt they have anything of substance. the guy was almost certainly paid to do to by someone and it took three days for them to even find his bag.
 
How this just gets crazier with the Monopoly money in the bag, no trace/evidence available from the bag they found and the words on the bullets.
I know the actual crime is not related in any way but it gives me Bryan Kohberger vibes with how the police are releasing what information they know or claiming they know more. I understand they don't want to give the shooter a chance to flee but such a high profile killing and a man can disappear.
Trump saying he could get away with shooting someone in Manhattan...well pretty much like that. Also, this guy has the support of even the TikTok crime sleuths!

They can tell a lot from bullets including types of weapons used and who the registered holder is / area etc , they may have built a profile from that? He was cool and precise so may be a known felon or on an international database.

Was it not an old gun?
I read it was maybe a vetinary gun, the type used to 'euthanise' large animals. If they can trace anything from that,they may have a lead/suspect.
Aside from that, we have a 6'1, white male...somewhere in America or maybe beyond. They couldn't get him on facial recognition but are getting tips in (which may or may not be helpful)

I don't think they do know who he is, he kept a low profile and managed to ride through one of the busiest places in the city.
From the pictures released he looks ambiguous enough to be of multiple ethnic backgrounds.

They can still trace ballistics to previous murders ( if there are any) they know what date he arrived in NY and where he stayed , it’s the FBI on the case they’ve got the resources.

Oh no doubt they will get someone for a high profile murder like this. They have worked quickly to get the images out, especially the one with the mask lowered.
I just think it will take time and this shooter is someone who planned this... keeping the mask on, not speaking to others in the hostel, the monopoly money in the bag, the inscription on the bullets, this was not someone who googled a few facts (which can also be traced) and set on his merry way. Even the Starbucks trip seems so odd.

They've clearly planned this pretty well.

I wonder if their whole face that's been shown is a mask and they showed it on purpose at cameras. Otherwise wouldn't make sense to plan it in this much detail only to take down your mask at a reception when you know there will be cameras.

Saying they know his name, but won't say it to tip him off makes it seem like they still know nothing.
