Not surprisingly, neither Pandora or Bella have liked these grid posts

You can tell she favours a thong by that ever so uncomfortable looking scrunched up pout.

‘Jogging on’ (quite liked that book actually) in one sounds like a terrible idea though.

Agree, not sure knicker-chat was the wisest sponsored content to pick and to rope all your mates in on. They must be paying a lot so good on her I guess?! More to spend on baking those potatoes 🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔🥔

(Also every time is two words. They really need to sort out the copywriting at that brand)

I posted this in the magazines thread but actually I think it’s quite significant for LL content- if they’re winding down the mail on Sunday it will probs be the magazines and other supplements, and then other publications will follow suit. A lot of LL opportunities are in magazines and supplements. Guess they’ll move to podcasts. https://www.theguardian.com/media/2...clines?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

I was looking at the City journalism masters and it’s ALL about podcasting these days? I don’t mind a podcast and listen to them a lot but at least articles are edited, it’s just going to encourage a lot of rambling :)

TBH they've pretty much saturated the podcast market already, if you think about it. Sometimes I'm scrolling through Spotify looking for a podcast to lull me to sleep and it's just one LL after another, which makes me cross and then I can't sleep.

LOL re 'everytime'. Bella Mackie (ie Rusbridger) is the ultimate nepo baby.

I don't know if it's me being in my 40s but I don't get the obsession with everything on video these days. I love the printed word because you can go at your pace, ie race through the boring bits, whether it's a highbrow novel or a 'how to replace your oven door' guide. I hate having to watch a slow YT video to find something out, listening to the boring intro etc, when if it had been written down I could have cast my eye over the whole thing and found the relevant bit straight away.

Shame re them winding up the Mail on Sunday. Guess you're right, @soph30 the writing's on the wall.

Not to go off on a total tangent, but I have the exact same thoughts re people sending me voice notes rather than text messages!

(I realize no one wants this to become a podcast-recommendation thread BUT!) "Fall of Civilizations" is an ideal bedtime listen. A minimum of fuss and just a curiously sexy male voice eruditely walking you through what, for example, the end of the Sumerian empire looked like.
(My second favorite is old episodes of BBC4's In Our Time, which can make you dream of Doggerland or 14th-c Italy or the like.)

Love a podcast recommendation - thank you!

Tried this last night, lulled me quickly to sleep. Very relaxing listening to him talk about archaeologists digging up Aztec ruins, thanks for the rec

I always find it interesting how Clover Stroud cultivates quite a lefty, chaotic, boho, scruffy persona and lifestyle on Instagram, yet regularly writes lifestyle pieces for the Daily Mail, with the mandatory photoshoot where she gets the glam treatment. Funnily enough, she never shares these articles to her insta audience.

Can’t believe I still haven’t found a podcast better than the high low (in that category!) 😮
OT but a girlie on the old Dolly and Pandora thread recommended After Work Drinks, so gave it a listen and I now loveeee

One is Aussie (lives in London) and one is Kiwi (just moved to LA). There's less discussion about books (if any), but a lot of pop-culture and fashion chat, along with pea-brain musings. NGL took me a few eps to get into, but it's a staple now, and I've signed up for their Patreon.

(to any other girlies on the thread, it wasn't me that wrote that review on Apple Podcasts 😂)

I am so bored of her writing about sex. Her sister apart (very much not dissing that), it’s all she writes about.
