I went to bed listening to an old episode of Sentimental Garbage on Friday night and awoke at about 5am to hear Elizabeth Day prattling on about the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

I thought my sleep paralysis demon was manifesting itself again when I heard her Sloane Drone.

She and Caroline manage to get nearly almost everything about the franchise wrong. It's a real lesson in how if you say things with conviction, they sound true!

I’m rereading EIKAL; would be intrigued to know if anyone has any stories about encountering Dolly in her uni/early 20s years ? Also, did we ever come to a conclusion about who Hector was? I wish there were some photos of Dolly with her shaved head, I can’t imagine it!

There’s a 2012 gov.uk white paper on the benefits of reading for pleasure, free and researched with actual citations . Quite the read. No Insta to my knowledge.

I might look into the gov white papers and see what else I can pad a book out of.

I enjoyed it, as did my pals who read it. Significantly better than Ghosts. Won’t change your life but nice easy fun read

It’s an easy read that will have no impact on your life but I seem to remember looking forward to reading it each night. I like Dolly’s writing but she stays very much in her safe lane.

WHY does Elizabeth Day feel the need to engage / comment on Mother’s Day at all? Every year. Just put your phone down for 24 hours. Also - a day that can’t be all about her / where she’s not the ‘winner’ and she can’t cope.
