The repeated mention of her vaping in her wedding dress … what a classy visual 🤦🏼‍♀️

Again, it just really really annoys me that she portrays smoking as edgy and cool and makes out she’s in complete control of it and proudly puts pictures on Instagram with a fag in her hand because she thinks it makes her look great??

If she’s vaping then she’s obviously addicted, like anyone would be if they smoke repeatedly! It really is such a vile habit, why anyone goes on about it the way she does after about 1993 is beyond me.

I tried, I really tried, but for all the heartache she’s experienced in her life she’s just another snooty, privileged rich girl with very little humility.

I was given a few of her books as gifts and like you say, wanted to like her very much but she’s so in relatable. She’s never had a job and spends life swanning around being asked to write books (so she says anyway). I find people who have never worked a real job extremely irritating.

I didn't realise the Ella you were talking about was Ella Risbridger, I don't listen to these podcasts! But I remember when she was getting famous pre pandemic and felt awful for her boyfriend was so unwell and just being used as personal essay fodder.
I gave her a Google and this came up: https://www.queersinfoodandbeverage.com/interviews/ella-risbridger
It's very different in tone to the one just above it in the Google rankings where she gushes about AGAs 😬 definitely a not so secret massive posho.
I'm so glad a probably privately educated white lady is writing a children's book "about racism".

So she uses female pronouns, talks about being a woman, doesn't talk about having female partners, but she's queer? Ok.

Also I don’t believe someone got into writing just by writing. Bullshit she doesn’t have connections/family money if all she does is loll about.

Absolutely no way does a girl of 20-21 land a book deal (a partial memoir at that) out of thin air. Talent doesn’t come into it. It really galls me when privileged, privately educated people fail to acknowledge that money and connections gets you absolutely everywhere in life.

I know these aren’t really LLs but why have a Harrods chosen this lot to open their dining hall 😂 motley crew of people

Desperate!

Unusual for perfect Pandora to admit that her little darlings had a meltdown during their family photo shoot. Refreshing to hear a bit of reality but she should have left out the photo of Zadie looking absolutely miserable whilst Pandora is doing her best Earth Mother pose, it’s a bit jarring.

Has anyone read Stacey Duguid’s book? I bought it as a holiday read but didn’t have many opportunities to read so only got through about half of it. Came home, started reading something else and now I’ve just gone back to it.

It’s all over the place chronologically and thematically. Not particularly well-written. But parts of it are fairly compelling - she has some stories to tell and she doesn’t hold back of the gory details.

I did and I really enjoyed it. Towards the end she makes some really key points about marriage, relationships and protecting yourself. All logical but rarely spoken about.

The bit about Ron (not going to spoil it but ☹️).

I will be sharing with friends.

No but I’m about to order it – sold by all the glowing reviews on IG, which actually seem quite legit. Not expecting a literary masterpiece but it does look like a good read. Not book-related but I’m curious about her bad rep working at Harrods (I think somebody mentioned it on here, that she wasn’t very nice to work for / with)

She does make some good points in the book and showcases some sage advice from experts. I like her…I just find her so chaotic!

I’m looking forward to reading about the affair…is that Ron?

Will read tonight!

Yeah I like her - she seems down to earth, albeit a little self-centred…I can imagine her being difficult to work with simply because she seems a bit all over the place.
