I have to say it boils my piss when people say "leave" when you complain about somewhere. I live in the US and I'm constantly moaning about America 😂 but I often tell people it's because I love the US so much that I want to see it do better. Same applies for the UK.

Otegha has talked for YEARS about leaving the UK and never seems to do it. On the contrary, she's renovating her flat and talking about it being her forever home. She does seem deeply unhappy and that DM obviously touched a nerve.

This confirms she hasn't found her Tattle threads yet because if we get all of that due to one DM imagine the stories after she's found Tattle 😂😂

Yeah I'm not sure who Otegha really IS is the issue, she needs to find her niche as a media personality. I read her book We Need To Talk About Money and really liked it, she's funny and straight talking and really captured millennial issues and feelings. She didn't come from money and valued education, being super cool and realising her priority needed to be buying a house- she spoke to me way more than the other LLs who all came from privilege and spend their time posting boring shite :) Then she started getting a bit race baity, writing a book called Whites. Now when I use that phrase I don't mean she shouldn't write about her experiences as a woman of colour, her voice is so important, but I'd say the same about someone writing a book called Feminism, it's just all a bit yawn- make it an element of another topic, it's all intersectional! Now she just seems to want to be another Candice Brathwaite, picking fights with people the whole time whilst promoting things and being relatable but funny but not really likeable :)

Not that it necessarily matters (black/brown people can still internalise racism) but I'm not even sure the Sara woman was white. Either way, yes, saying "Leave then" is stupid but O has come off soooooooo badly. She IS a public figure at the end of the day, and most public figures are not politicians (so it was a weird point) but still have expected standards of behaviour. Ew.

The absolute crap Panda is flogging on her Vinted. You would have thought she’d have something decent to sell after decades of receiving free stuff in the fashion industry. I know 100% is going to charity but it’s still a paid partnership.
Why’s it all sold?! Guess people want to support charity but didn’t realise there were diehard Panda fans haha

Caroline's wedding episode podcast. Jesus, I can't believe she's still talking about this bloody wedding. She loves to talk about how unconventional it was when it's clear she played right into the wedding industrial complex. It was such a conventional wedding which is fine if that's your thing, don't then turn around and act like you're not like the other girls when you've done exactly the same.

She’s not like other girls. She ‘loves a cheeky fag’ and one of her three dresses was light blue. She’s way cooler.

Did you hear the bit at the end when Ella said something like ‘your wedding wasn’t unique but it was fun’. Made me laugh out loud.

It sounded very stressful and as though she was not a chill bride.

The ‘so much kissing’ bit made my insides curl up and the defensiveness about the invite time. I mean that was a huge balls up.

There was another comment that made my ears prick up. When Ella said that another guest made some comment about how they made out their relationship was perfect. Lol at the reported bitchiness.

Elizabeth Day is in the times culture supplement today. She’s from Belfast?!?! Also just realised I tried to read one of her books, the party. I returned it because it was so bad. I didn’t know who she was at the time.

It was a terrible book. It’s the only one of hers I’ve read - its total crapness and banality put me off ever bothering with her again.

I listened to the Sentimental Garbage Weddings podcast and was a bit surprised as I thought Ella sounded quite mean when she was talking about it.
I was expecting lots of joy and excitement about what a wonderful day it was, because weddings do produce euphoria and glitches tend to be forgotten fairly easily.
But there seemed to be lots of focus from Ella on how Caroline messed up and Ella had to plan it all and it wasn’t interesting or exciting because it was just traditional and I just thought she sounded like the type of friend who doesn’t like anyone else to get attention and doesn’t let her friends forget their mistakes easily. It came across as kinda jealous to me, was I reading too much into it?
I do like Caroline, I think she’s insightful, intelligent and talented - out of all that bunch, she’s definitely the one I like the best whereas I’ve never been keen on Ella’s writing or particularly enjoyed her when she’s guested on the podcasT so maybe that fed into how I responded to that particular podcast. But I was surprised that there didn’t seem to be more compliments for Caroline and the wedding -I even noticed when they were talking about the speeches Caroline complimented Ella on how beautiful her speech was but Ella didn’t seem to compliment Caroline to the same extent, about any aspect. Did anyone else feel like this or am I talking nonsense?

I thought the podcast was quite self indulgent generally. It was made out that it would be a podcast that anyone getting married, or any bridesmaid could listen to and pick up tips or advice - but the entire podcast was sooo specific to Caroline's wedding and her duck ups which lets face it, not many people mis-communicate the time their wedding starts.

Agreed that Ella seemed a little mean spirited about it at times. Then again, it sounds as if she went above and beyond in her role as maid of honour - having to remind Caroline to book flowers, suppliers etc!
