The BBC is going to have to answer some questions here. It was clear quite early on that the match wouldn’t continue. So no reason at all for them to keep filming. Someone was controlling the drones that kept going back to the shielded area, as adults we are all shocked and personally I’m a bit traumatised at what I saw, how many children will have been watching that?
The actual broadcast of the football will be done by UEFA, so they will have to answer for trying to fly drones up close, but the BBC definitely have to answer for not cutting to studio quicker.

My only hope is that every person who watched those horrific scenes live, makes the decision to learn basic life support skills. Bad CPR literally is better than no CPR at all. I’ve seen bystander CPR be the reason someone survives an out of hospital arrest. The images of Simon Kjaer checking his airway and commencing CPR will stay with me for a very long time.
Completely agree. I can’t remember the exact stats but I believe in the UK we have some of the worst stats for deaths which maybe could have been prevented if CPR was administered quicker or defibs were more easily accessible.

I had 27 minutes of CPR in 2018 - I was already in hospital, thank God. Had I been at home there was no way my husband would have known what to do. Since then we have all learned. I actually gave everyone in my family first aid classes for Christmas that year so they could learn too.

That is awful, I’m so sorry to hear that. One of my friends lost the father of her son 4 years ago at 24, because she didn’t know how to do CPR and was desperately trying to google how to do it through the shock of him being laid dead in front of her.

It terrifies me that people are reluctant to learn or hesitate because they think they’re doing it wrong, when anything is better than nothing.

Such awful scenes made even scarier by them not cutting away from it. So glad he seems okay in hospital but I'm shocked they're still playing, even if the players had a say and consulted Christian. Props to the Danish team for their courage especially the captain who could have saved his life ❤
Boyfriend is a fan of eriksen so he's extra shaken up by this

That is what I say to everyone - anything is better nothing.

That is so sad for your friend. 24 is no age at all. I was 37 and already in hospital when they found me unresponsive in bed, I woke up in ICU 9 days later. It changed everything about our lives, but I am well now and just thankful I was in the hospital when it all happened.

Spurs household.... Broke my heart to watch one of my favourite players (I affectionately refer to them as my ‘Spurs Babies’) go through that. I was screaming at the TV to stop them showing him receiving CPR.
Seeing someone go through that is traumatic, but pulling at my heartstrings just a little bit more because he’s always been a favourite.
Over the moon that he is awake ❤️

One feed was broadcasting to all countries so it was the BBC’s decision on when to cut to studio. They should have done this much before they did. Yes the presenters would have been dreadfully upset and shocked but they are professionals and should be able to carry the studio production instead of floundering and showing distressing scenes from the ground. As for whoever the Director was in charge of cutting to his wife to show her distress and the close up shots of the CPR etc, that’s just incredibly bad taste!!!

Thank god he had this there and had medical attention in seconds. I used to work with someone who was super fit (diet wasn't great though) and biked to work 20km every day and was early 30s and he died one evening on a deserted path. If someone was around with a defriblator maybe he would have lived :(

What a bizarre line up from a manager who is about to get found out over the next couple of weeks. Trippier at LB? He clearly doesn't have much faith in his defense to be playing two CDM to protect them. Has he forgotten 2018 when Modric basically stood in the midlde of the pitch and ran the show? Ah well!

Working so far. Also everyone does not have faith in those centre backs, so playing Rice and Phillips makes sense.
