Pleased that Wales is doing so well v proudAnd the welsh accent is lush I must say
Sad his careers over but he’s up and about doing good!
That’s about as serious a heart issue as you can get ,it’s a portable defibrillator in his chest every time his heart stops that shocks him back to life .I’d doubt he’d play again it’s not an easy condition to live with. How‘d you know his careers over? I‘ve just read it‘s not clear yet.
Think the difference between them would probably be that Blind hasn't actually suffered a cardiac arrest so his heart hasn't gone through that trauma. He's going to have an ICD fitted, basically a defibrilator. This was interesting however, although I agree Eriksen sadly won't play again:
Eriksen's former Ajax team-mate Daley Blind, who is representing Netherlands at Euro 2020, has also been fitted with an ICD after being diagnosed with heart muscle inflammation in 2019.
There’s a lady local to me that had it happen to her ( then ) 8 yr old son he’s 13 now , he had a CA while out with his dad and two brothers, his dad performed CPR until the ambulance came but it took nearly an hour to get his heart started again ,he was in hospital for weeks getting rehabilitated and then had to go to Dublin to get an ICD fitted ( he’s just had his 2nd one fitted) she kept a blog going throughout the whole thing to help other parents and highlight this issue to try and get as many as pos to learn CPR , but what they went through is terrible , the boys memory is badly affected he can’t remember one minute from the next and a lot of physical and mental issues, at the time she wrote about how guilty she felt for wanting him back ,looking at how his life is and what he has to cope with ,over the years they’ve learned to adjust with a lot of help but it makes for very sad reading of what they went/ are still going through after this event. My friends 13 year old daughter died of a sudden cardiac event. She came home from school one day, went in the shower and collapsed. Her younger sister and mum were subsequently fitted with one of these devices, but both have had to have extensive therapy to deal with the mental toll, not just of losing a young family member so suddenly, but the fear that it could happen to them at any time. This was 10 years ago now but the mum and grandma are barely recognisable, the stress has changed them irrevocably.
I’m so not ready for tomorrow. I’m a scot, living in Scotland, who is weirdly an England fan. I don’t want to watch the game surrounded by loads of Scots my pals are going to rip the arse out of me
