If it happens so often, why do they let them have sugar in their cells?

I worked in a cat A prison for a couple of years - not on the wings - but OMG if those poor dears had any of their human rights affected

We had a wing that rioted, smashed up their huge communal tv and killed their fish. The next day they had to get them replaced ASAP even the fish

my brother worked in a women’s prison and got sexually assaulted most weeks! He left to go back to a men’s prison!

Oh that’s awful god love him!
Thankfully I never had anything like that and most of the guys were surprisingly polite to me - I had them promise to keep an eye on me if there were any riots when I was on the wings and keep me safe.
Some were grim tho

I did some work as a GP in a couple of local prisons and it was an eye opener. I wish we invested more into peoples mental health as I’m sure that would help stop offending more than anything else.

There was an interview on This Morning with a gent who'd been to prison. They were asking him how his time compared to the show "Time" and he said some of the people in prison really should be in hospitals but there aren't the space so they're put in to prisons where they have little support or perhaps not the right kind of support.

Best thing I’ve watched in a long time (looking at you Line of Duty…)

The saddest and probably one of the most realistic thing was Daniel ending up hooked on Heroin when he’d never touched it until he was inside. Reminded me a bit of Tommy in Trainspotting

The saddest and probably one of the most realistic thing was Daniel ending up hooked on Heroin when he’d never touched it until he was inside. Reminded me a bit of Tommy in Trainspotting

I watched the first episode but it was too much for me, I couldn’t watch the rest. Partner works in a prison, he watched it and said for once prison looks realistic on the telly.

Yeah it was Daniel, the ex cellmate with the mobile phone. As someone said upthread, Paul was the gambler who robbed the bookie

Has anyone been watching Time on BBC (iplayer) with Sean Bean and Stephen Graham?

I've only watched 2/3 episodes so far but it's amazing. So dark, so grim, so good.

Ahh it is! Some of it is really uncomfortable viewing but I do love a dark prison program
