I absolutely loved S2 but they're all giving me the ick now. I know the final was only on Friday but I've had enough of them already 😐

Reality shows tend to hit their stride around S3 so my hopes are high, but I really hope they stick to the same format and give the fame hungry wannabes a swerve. Dunno though. I'd hate the show to be a victim of its own success.

I decided to watch series 1 of the UK version because I didn't see it last year. The faithful are a lot more feisty and interesting and the traitors not as ruthless. The episode where they all started fighting at breakfast was really fun and Derren Brown lite leapt up shouting "she's my girlfriend" was hilarious 😂

My thoughts after watching half the series:
- Darren Brown wannabe pink hair man, what a twat.
- All the men crying more than the women 😭
- I felt sorry for the young guy who had a panic attack at the banishment and was accused of 'acting' by nasty John who then did exactly the same thing and flounced off when he was accused 😄
God that pink hair twat and his girlfriend are a right pain in the arse.

The episode where Ivan got banished was probably my favourite one 😂 complete carnage from start to finish.

Exactly. He took in pretty much everyone, all of them older than Mollie.
Of all the reveals, for those who were murdered or banished, his seemed to be the one that shocked them most.
I genuinely think most of them thought Harry was nice but dim. Paul certainly did.
It was probably as shocking Harry being a traitor as it would have been if it were Mollie.

Jaz messed up terribly nominating Andrew at the end. It was a bizarre choice. Based on Andrew's ill advised outburst to him about Harry. But Jaz had form for doing that, on the right track then swerving away at the end.

But what a series. I mainly loved it and the ending was 👌

Question: apologies if already asked.

What do they do on the evening? Do they all stay in the same hotel?

I was just thinking its remote, there cant be too many hotels around (to put one in each). I just wondered if Harry and Mollie were more involved than we thought, and maybe had a fling offscreen?

They stay in the same couple of hotels but spread out across floors and I think they all are locked in essentially so they can’t leave without a crew member. So they might put say Brian, Charlotte and Miles on one floor but a few doors apart.

I think Mollie was just very naive and thought they were actually besties. They’re a similar age and most of the others were early 30s onward.

Agreed.
I think Harry played that up a bit too - the dimwit persona. And it worked. He put up incorrect spelling of names, more than once, for example. I think his cherubic appearance and his age also helped to fool everyone.

I loved it too. I can't remember when I was so hooked on a tv series before. I have to watch series 1 now. 😁

Not meaning this in a bad way at all but the The Traitors isn't a reality TV show.

Ive noticed Claudia and production are a really keen to keep stressing this, Its a strategy game show based around loyalty, detective work, strength of mind and endurance 'the ultimate murder mystery game set in a castle'

They are contracted to do some radio and TV commitments for being in the final but after that ends its just personal choice like I'm only following just two from S2 on Instagram and none from S1 so it pretty easy to steer clear once the dust settles kinda thing .

It's a reality game show then. Normal people being put into a situation, made for entertainment, with the contestants giving context through pieces to the camera. Of course it's completely different to scripted reality like the Kardashians, TOWIE, Real Housewives and the like but the production team can call it what they want, it's a reality show to me.

I get that they want to market this show differently and prevent it from being caught up in other reality TV and the audience would say they've been successful in doing so.

I can only think Harry and Paul will try stick around in the public eye. Obviously if they already work in media they’ll continue with that. I can’t see any of the others showing up at premiers or give always or angling for another show.

The rest of them I think will honour the contracted commitments they have aka tv or radio interviews afterwards and the after show and go back to real life. Some of them seem quite normal and not “fame hungry” and in the grand scheme of things, just say 40k on insta or tiktok or whatever isn’t enough to make a living off unless you’re doing constant brand deals.

I worked with a girl who had about 20kish and she had a normal office job. She’d occasionally be sent a free gift but besides that normal job.

I already was a huge fan of Claudia but this programme has cemented her status as one of my top favourite presenters. 😁
It's impossible to think of anyone else doing it isn't it? Possibly Richard O'Brien back in the day.

I think also what worked so well was the whole aesthetic of the programme which they got right in the first series. Like nothing seen before.
The castle, Claudia, the traitors gathering at night in cloaks, the music (some found it annoying I know).
Just so entertaining and immersive.
