I don't think it gave him any advantage? It's not like they definitely knew if either one was a faithful or traitor.

I actually think it's harder for your mum to be there. If that were me, I'd be worried about instinctively calling her "mum" in front of everyone by accident.

Can't stand him or his mother. She was hopeless as is he. Him wanting 'revenge' for people playing a game, when he and Diane have lied and played a game all through it, is irritating

Haha no offence taken! I'm mostly being tongue in cheek and I think Ross is too.

I liked Diane because she was a character and she threw herself into the challenges. I'd take a strong character like Diane any day over boring people like Molly who barely speak.

At the end of the day, it's only a game and just a bit of fun.

I think he'll want to oust any traitor who got rid of his mum, so he doesn't want to give them a reason to suspect that that's his plan. I think that's why he asked Andrew how recently he was recruited- he wants to know whether he was part of that. Not sure he'll be able to pull it off, but it should be good fun to watch him try.

Yeah in the aftershow Diane said she and Ross agreed to never reveal their connection after what happened last year with the boyfriend and girlfriend. Wise choice.

Having a connection between two contestants is more for the viewers anyway. The "Paul can't be my son, but Ross is!" moment was iconic and then we're all watching to see if their connection will be sussed out. Plus it allows for small comedic moments, like when Ross said his mother's roast dinners are bad right in front of Diane.

Considering the people who have been left behind (dim Molly, couple of shouty witches to go at each others throats for distraction) - Ross should be flattered that his Mum was for the chop. It just meant she actually had functioning brain cells and that scared the traitors.
