John lost me when he was quite nasty to Aaron, shouting at him, calling him dramatic for leaving the room when he had his panic attack and pointing out that it was only a game. And then, the next morning, he got upset at being put on trial and stormed out of the breakfast room himself! I didn't like him at all.
That's exactly the point he lost my support too. He bullied Aaron when he was asking him questions about his work and then continued after that incident.

I really disliked Tom a few eps in, his behaviour once he thought he knew who was a traitor was horrible. I do think the programme was good because there wasn't a tonne of filler of them talking about their lives etc, but I do think as well would have also been interesting because some of the close bonds and friendships seemed quite surprising. Amos was my favourite, possibly just as he's really attractive tbh though.

My worry is now it’s had a good hype. They better keep letting all ages and range of people from places not like love island all young and attractive. I hope show keeps its core there

Programmes are never as good when people know the score imo. With the talk of a celeb version already seems to be the case.

I think it could have been good if the traitors didn’t know who the other traitors were, they could have all gone to their rooms, and the traitors could have spoken via messenger to decide who to kill, although I guess they wouldn’t be able to back stab then, and they wouldn’t know who wasn’t a faithful, but it would have been interesting seeing them trying to figure out who was also on their team, without exposing themselves in the process.

also, after the ending, I’m convinced Wilf was a planted actor, when they voted him out he just seemed to completely switch personalities it was like he had just finished a performance in theatre

This is true. We have already seen the best series. They will know how they are being perceived by viewers. This first lot were blind, although a lot of people nowadays seem more savvy and polished with regards to getting their faces out there, so I suspect a few of them already knew how to play the game. I follow a few of last years Sewing Bee contestants on Instagram - their feeds are so professional.

The advantages that it has is that it’s pre-recorded so there’s no audience element like Big Brother and hearing yourself get booed or cheered, it’s a shorter timespan and more isolating so less time to worry about how you’re being perceived, like I’m a Celeb, and no audience participation or voting so they will never get eliminated for being unpopular with viewers, like Love Island

Well, the studio wouldn't expect Americans to see the UK version and vice versa I imagine. So they would think they'd get away with it.

Oh yeah, it's just unusual, usually when things cross the pond (either way) some changes are made. Rare to see such a carbon copy. But as you say its money saving and they filmed both at same time

So the American version is literally a carbon copy

That's wierd - exactly the same. Looks strange with different people 😂
I heard an interview with the production guy yesterday (Stephen Lambert? Also does Gogglebox). Apparently the BBC pushed for it to be a non celeb programme. He didn't really explain why tbh. Just hinted that they were aiming for a younger audience and didn't want it clogged up with the same usual suspects.

BBC must have had a lot of faith (😎) in this show then if insisting that it was non-celebs. seeing as it’s got quite a hefty cash prize and they are limited to the amount they can give out as cash because it’s paid for by the TV license. They could have easily gone down the celeb “it’s for charity” route so glad they didn’t (for the first series anyway).

I'm glad they didn't, they really need to end this trend of chucking celebs (using the term very loosely) on absolutely every show going. It's fine for a one off year special but often these days they'll do one celeb series of something and it just continues that way.
