The Tinder Swindler - Netflix

Very true

very true somehow I think if he would of said come with me on a business meeting in my Nissan micra to Blackpool to a b&B I doubt she would of went 😂😂😂

I don't blame the girls whatsoever in this. Simon has had YEARS of practice in being a con artist, he's defrauded countless people out of millions. In the montage at the end of the show, it would appear he's also conned apparently successful men as well. He's got the con down to a very fine art and it's worked against all sorts of people, apparently.

Even if you consider the girls "stupid" or naive, I don't think "stupid" people are any less deserving of empathy or justice. What if they were diagnosed as learning impaired, or had a low IQ? Surely everyone deserves a chance at finding love without being judged or victim blamed for falling prey to an experienced predator.

It's easy for me to say I'd never fall for it but I've never been in that position. I won't be donating to the GFM either but I hope they can get some restitution.

I’m still trying to understand why the first girl flew off with him after knowing him one hour 😵‍💫

Again, and without judgement, I think this is the open spirit of Scandinavians. Sex is available and not shameful and you don’t need the whole courting thing to indulge in it, and society doesn’t judge you (at large). This is why I was saying earlier maybe there is something to his choice of three Finnish girls, one Swedish girl and one Norwegian. I’m generalizing a bit but in some cultures he would have had to wine and dine and court the whole family before the girl agrees to join in him on travels. That’s my current thinking at least.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing. I think her observations go more in depth on the psychological aspect, my reflection was from a practical angle. Like which kind of women will require the least effort so I don’t waste a couple of months building confidence? The ones with no tabus when it comes to sexual relationships.

I observed that immediately too

Its a bit tit to have their money conned but i don't have much sympathy, particularly for the first featured girl.

Replace the first date invitation to fly to Bulgaria on a private jet after meeting in a snazzy hotel, with a date at a bowling alley with a proposition of a weekend away in Feltham via uber and she would of made her excuses and left, if she even turned up. They all wanted his security and a nice lifestyle, which isn't necessarily a gold digger, but it clouded their judgement.

Weekend away in Feltham made me laugh !

Can’t believe how he has been getting away with this ! Some interesting posts from the diamond business he pretends to be part off
He’s just a thief and a nasty little man hopefully he will be held accountable one day

Have you seen the Go Fund me the ladies have created to clear their debts? I do feel for them so I may donate at some point, having so much debt (although you could argue in ways it was naive) must be crippling and life changing.

Why was Cecile given so much story time but Alyeen was rushed in at the end? She was by far the most interesting imo. She was with him for 14 (18?) months. That’s triple the time Celine “knew” him. I’d be far more interested in what she has to say.
I think they made Cecile look quite naive and Alyeen look like the savour but perhaps staying with him for that long is more curious but did help her get some revenge

Watched it yesterday with my younger sister.

First step was falling for the Simon official thing. It would have been verified with a blue tick if he was real.

I felt so sad for the first woman. She came across as just so desperately wanting her Disney ending and wanting to be loved, that she was willing to accept the bare minimum.

I didn't think he was good looking at all, but he was smart to make them use their own cards ONLY and to get them to phone the banks when the card was blocked for unusual spending. They always tell you not to share your pin.

The first woman was brave for going to the Newspaper group.

Cheered for the last woman who sold his clothes.

Cheeky sods with the go fund me. Gonna start one for myself and get all the money back I’ve ever lent anyone 😂. One of the first things I was every told when I got A job was don’t lend anyone what you can’t afford to loose . they saw a opportunity to bag a rich man and were stupid. Sorry but they wouldn’t have looked at him twice if he was dressed in primark and from Blackpool 😂.
I still thinks there’s something else to all this
