The Terror series 1

So this has been on iPlayer for a few weeks I think, I think it was released in the US a while ago though. I started it and ended up finishing it within a week because I loved it! Don’t want to post any spoilers due to it being on bbc1 once a week, but I liked how I came around to some of the characters as you learnt more about them. If you liked fortitude, I think this had a similar vibe. Have seen the trailer for the second series and because it’s an anthology the premise looks very different, and I’m not sure I can cope with full on horror.
I ended up loving Fitzjames by the end and I was with Crozier throughout. I have since read about the real life disappearance of the ships and plan on read the book that the series was based on.

I made my husband start watching this with me on Sunday and were just about to get into episode 7.
I'm not going to lie I never normally enjoy stuff like this as its set so far back in history and there are times when I have no idea what is going on 😂 but I have really enjoyed it and can't wait to watch the rest! Some of the deaths have been harrowing and we have watched it during the day so I dont think we had the atmosphere for it to be scary but it has been tense.

I didnt realise there'd be a second season so if its as well made as this I'll be watching.

I’m really enjoying this at the moment. It has so many themes that are still relevant today. Privilege over ability racism imperialism how we judge people before we know them. That mixed with good old horror/suspense. You have to concentrate though!!

I only watched bits and pieces of it as I tried the first episode but couldn't get into it, my boyfriend carried it on. Some of the gore was 😱 and I'm not squeamish!!

It's a shame I couldn't get into it as it's an outstanding cast. Jared Harris is one of my favourite all time actors

I’m only just finished the second episode so far and it’s great! The diving bit got to me but it was super cool to see the old metal kind of diving suits. I love nerdy stuff like that tbh

There are so many things I want to discuss on here but I don’t want to spoil it for others. The only thing I will say is did anybody else realise that the person playing the first captains wife is Greta Saatchi? I was boggled!

I finished it weeks ago when I discovered it was on iPlayer. Absolutely loved it.

I only knew it was Greta Scacchi because I'd seen her name in the titles. She was a bit of a babe back in the day. To be honest I think it's great to see an actress just grow old. She actually a great actress.

I really enjoyed this serious. Lots of twists and turns, really atmospheric, stellar cast and good plot. You do have to really concentrate and at times I thought the pacing was a tad slow but overall great serious and great story!
