I wauted for this week to binge watch everything (so I can welcome my personal lifecoach next week as she deserves). I think all the franchises works better in a binge watch lately. Waiting a whole week for an uneventful episode isn't great.

I used to quite like Tamra as a character - not as a person - despite Gretchen's faults, what she done to her in the early seasons was VILE. I just can't bring myself to watch the new series, I think Tammy-Sue has had her day and bringing her back was a mistake and I just CANNOT tolerate Vicki, she needs to not be on TV and get herself together.

I agree I don't think they should have brought her back. I never minded Tamra as a houswife but I always think it's a mistake to bring back a housewife who so desperately wants to be back on the show because they try way too hard to be back in their 'former glory days' that the drama just seems so fake and OTT which is exactly what's happened with her and Shannon. If you compare her to a Heather who doesn't really need to be there financially or anything you can tell that the drama is more 'authentic' whether you like her or not

I also think Tamra has just said too much on her podcast that you can't really get away from how much she has broken the fourth wall.
 
So, I know haven't been posting or watching RH or reality shows since February 😪 but have been kind of keeping an eye on thread.. so I finally sat down yesterday and watched latest of RHONJ yep I know I'm months and months behind ye 🤣🤣 I'm about 6 episodes in and it hits me that Melissa would be lost without her hatred of Teresa or whatever it is...she has no story. Teresa is really making a new family for herself, as much as Joe G annoys me i feel Teresa should be better with him. Jennifer just bleeping rubs me up the wrong way....she's delusional but great TV...this losing the rag so easy and screaming and the insults. Margaret hmmmm beginning to wonder about her and maybe not as innocent as I thought. Maybe she does keep an arsenal of information to use later...Rachel I like so far BUT she's almost too likeable. There has to be something. Oky doky so Danielle just no no no!!!
Yep I'm really enjoying it probably because I haven't seen any franchise recently...I still have Miami to finish 😪😪
Is BH on yet? Or which next after I finish NJ and Miami?

Welcome back to watching! Agree with all of this, except Rachel using her stepson as a storyline is what put me off her. He’s almost an adult, and they acted like they didn’t know where his mum was when she was clearly in prison lol just felt icky.
BH won’t be on for a while, get stuck in with Miami ❤️

Because I’m sure no restaurant owner wants to be known globally as old news 🤣 Bravo did them a favour!

I’ve finally gotten round to watching both episodes and I’m liking the new vibe! I’m one of the few people in here who isn’t a Ramonja stan so I quite like that they’re young, diverse and moaning about inane things 🤣 also love the backdrops, Jenna’s apartment is to die for! I think it’s still early doors so the drama will be low level and silly but it’s an enjoyable watch so far, you can see it getting catty later on in the series and next series with people like Sai, Erin and Bryan butting heads.

Came to say the same. The franchise only work when there's a solid group of friends. Not just a bunch of women thrown together.

I liked the episode, it was silly and light, which i truly need. (if you guys don't read the Niomi Smart thread, you should, it's getting crazier by the week, and not in a fun way, but in maybe we should stage an intervention and abduct the girl way)

I agree - the background is so important to the show.
Take RHONJ for example - the original HW's all had a strong connection. Teresa knew Dina for years and was best friends with her. Dina was Carolines sister. Jacqueline was Dina & Caroline's sister in law.

They have history which is so important and adds a certain dynamic to the show

Totally agree with you both. Almost all the franchises had connections in the early series and it made it way more interesting. Even in OC Jeanna and Vicki were neighbours, Laurie worked for Vicki and even if they didn't know each other, they seemed to be part of the same circle. I know Tamra, Vicki and Shannon didn't actually know each other before the show but there was, at first, a real friendship where they would see each other outside of the show. Now most wives only seem to see each other when the cameras are rolling apor it's a Brvo event. Generally makes the arguments petty.

Not trying to shoehorn in randoms who would never choose to hang out naturally.
