The North Water

Anyone else started The North Water? Based on a book about a Yorkshire whaling ship and it’s crew. Just finished ep 2 and really enjoying it, as grim as it may be. Really want to visit Hull’s maritime museum now. Stephen Graham on excellent form as always, with Colin Farrell and Sam Spruell as the ‘villains’ for want of a better word. Watch if you liked The Terror

I binge-watched all 5 episodes over the weekend and I thought it was absolutely brilliant.

Yes, it's grim and not for the faint-hearted as far as the killing of seals and whales go, although you don't actually see any harm come to them but you certainly get the gist and the noises don't help

The acting was fantastic, with special mention to Colin Farrell who was outstanding as the evil, hard-drinking, womanising, physcopathic Drax. Apparently he gained 5st for the part and then lost it! I wish I could lose weight so easily.

For me, this was one of the best dramas I've seen in years.
