The Naked Doula

Couldn’t find a thread so I’ve made one. I can not deal with this woman. She is dangerous!!!!

Basically a doula who I believe has no medical/midwifery qualifications but advocates for ‘natural’ births and actively encourages women to disregard medical advice, doing things on their own terms such as declining inductions

Just been looking at her page, as s mum to a 9 month old and a 3 year old her information is terrifying!! She is actively encouraging people to go against health professionals advice. Where on earth has she got these ideas from it’s like she failed nursing school and wants to go against everything they teach as she is bitter! (Bit extreme I know!) but I can not get my head round why she would advise these dangerous practices!! 🤬

I reported her Instagram a while ago. She is a charlatan because she is masquerading as a medical professional. Doulas are for support only. She breaks Doula UK’s codes of conduct in more ways than one.
I find it interesting that she opted for an elective C-section for her own baby, yet goes on with the ‘floppy fanny’ ‘just breathe your baby out’ mantras.

That’s really interesting, I do not know much about Doulas but I did a lot of research with my own births and trusted the doctors and midwifes with their advice 100%.
surely if their main purpose is to support that’s exactly what they should do not preach their own misjudged views on vulnerable people!! I’m guessing her 128k followers makes her believe her own hype! Soo scary!

The fact that she’s moderated/limited comments on all her posts says it all really. That really is going against informed consent- she’s only happy to push her beliefs. Obviously the business model is to become a ‘celeb’ doula ££££££ Like some kind of fairy godmother who bestows the most perfect natural births on her clients. Dangerous

Mother of God

Coming from someone who has worked extensively in obstetric theatres (as well as had my own delivered there) she’s got some funny ideology about the state of the NHS at the minute. Yes staff will do their best to accommodate, but at the end of the day they have one job and one concern. Safety of mother & baby. Filling peoples heads with things that are likely to be unrealistic for a stretched workforce leaves people feeling they weren’t treated well 🤦🏻‍♀️ But then people don’t want to part with their money to be dealt reality do they. It really makes me laugh how these people think they are superior than those who have done 10 + years at med school before they even specialise.

I definitely would want my surgeon/consultant to be able to see during a section. And not have burning candles by oxygen 😂😂😂 what an absolute bleep she is.

She should be advocating woman’s rights of course! - but please, don’t patronise and condescend medically trained professionals who are trying to ensure their safety and deliver healthy babies. There’s no other motive.

Sorry but if a mother wanted a birth to remember - get your healthy baby in your arms. Not candles and burning essence and chanting. bleeping leave it out. This is serious tit. Don’t make a bleeping mockery out of the NHS and put innocent babies at risk.

The article is quite ambiguous, I can't see any mention of TND at the birth, in contrast the NHS midwife has been named and was present.
Maybe I'm missing something, I've read the OK article a few times and each time the tone is different. Maybe they're editing it or maybe it's just me.

She’s limited the comments on all her posts. Suspicious…. 🤨 🤔

Emma is the same name as TND, it’s very likely it’s her as Lauren has posted her on her Instagram previously.
