The Lost Daughter

Has anyone watched this on Netflix ? I chose it because of Olivia Coleman, and I watched it to the end. But I was left wondering what the point of it was. And to see Ed Harris dancing like a middle aged man who thinks he’s still cool, at a wedding , was the nail in the coffin. Did I miss something ?

I had to turn it off after 35 mins. It was so boring and going no where in my opinion. An absolute snooze fest. Fair dues for sticking with it.

We also sat through it until the credits had rolled. We kept thinking if we turned it off something would happen to make it worth watching! Just over 2 painful hours of our lives wasted. Who had lost a daughter? The whole thing was as clear as mud! Im so pleased others couldnt make head nor tail of it either.

I watched it to the end too... I kept thinking that one of her daughters was going to have gone missing at the age the modern day little girl was but that she would have been the age as Dakota Johnson's character and that's where the obsession was... Like was her daughter Dakota or something.

Stopped it half way through as it was so boring but needed to finish it.

I made the mistake of watching this I thought it was going somewhere but it never did. Very strange!

I liked it, it was strange though. The dialogue was very awkward but I felt as though we were very much viewing everything from her (Olivia Coleman character) skewed and increasingly paranoid perspective. I also think she was dead at the end when she was peeling the - miraculously appearing - orange and laughing with her daughters.

wasn’t the most fun I’ve had watching a film but it made me think so I’ll give it that.

I too seen Olivia Coleman and thought this should be good...how wrong was I. Absolutely no point to the film at all, total waste of time!

I’ve tried to watch this twice and still haven’t managed to get past the start where she’s on the beach eating an ice cream. Given up as I just cant push through even the first five minutes

I didn’t understand it really but watched it all. I thought the twist would be Dakota was her daughter?
