The Landscapers - Sky

What ??? The weirdest thing I’ve watched in a long time! The oddest thing is I enjoyed it lol but it was so well strange… comedy westerns grimness…. Certainly not what I was expecting but recommended… love it 🤷‍♀️

Watched and enjoyed, very theatre, very different.
Definitely not your regular series about two murderers. I don't recall the case either so I'm going to read up, the show almost convinced me they're innocent.
I finished this last night and took away a different conclusion. I was thinking of your post while watching it as we as a family thought they were guilty, Christopher in particular with Susan his accomplice

Isn't that strange, if I was to say anyone was guilty it was Susan, I thought she had real rage issues and he was a bit naive. It would be interesting to watch a documentary on the case. I think her solicitor was played as sympathetic and that probably steered me a little too.

I think Crime & Investigation Channel did a programme about the case, it was really interesting. It is fairly local to me so was interested in the case when it happened

I must see if I can find it, thanks. What was your takeaway and the local perspective, if you don't mind me asking.

There was definitely the financial aspect, by continuing to claim pensions. I know most people blamed the son in law, but I do think the wife was completely complicit with everything that went on. She definitely had anger issues and think she hid behind her husband, hoping for a more lenient punishment

Interesting. Reminds me a little of the Margaret Flemming case were they continued to collect her benefits.

Just finished this, is was completely different to what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it.

I can’t decide whether I think he did it purely for her, because of how her parents (apparently) treated her, then got the benefits of the house/money. Or whether it was financially motivated from the start.
