The Killer Nanny: Did She Do It?

Has anyone been watching?

I'm not sure what to think! What's everyone's opinion?

When she laughs when she's asked "did you slam Matthew?" It sounds like the person who asks it says it in a different voice? Not that that's an excuse for the laughing, but I definitely noticed it!

Yes, I watched it and believe she’s innocent. I think she laughed in her response due to nerves. It sounded wholly inappropriate and I don’t personally laugh like that when I’m nervous, but I know some people do! I’m pretty sure that will have done her no favours with the Jury though.

Sadly I’m old enough to remember all this happening. I’m pretty much the same age as Louise and worked in the local paper shop at the time. Diana had just died and the trial ran straight after. It was a weird time on history.

Just finished watching this tonight. I was only about 7 at the time but always remember her name on the news. I've never watched or read about the case much until this documentary but was shocked to hear she was only 18 , yeah she's an adult but imo that's very young to have such a responsibility for 2

I'm leaning more towards her being innocent but I don't understand what did happen if she didn't hurt him

I think the parents caused a slow appearing deadly condition and blamed it on her. Bearing in mind the doctor for the prosecution now says the evidence doesn't hold up and the old skull fracture that was present before she started. Nah, those parents dodgy as duck.

I watched it! I also used to nanny so found it really interesting.

I think she’s innocent, she didn’t come across too well in the trial, but I think she was young, nervous and out of her depth.

Annoys me so much when affluent parents choose to hire young, inexperienced au pairs to look after their very young children for long days. Doctors work long unpredictable shifts and IMO should always hire an experienced nanny who is able to cope with the hours, especially when the children are so young.

Pisses me off. Happy to spend money on expensive cars etc and not on their own children.

I bet Louise was thrilled when she found out this documentary was being made 🙃

Yeah I've trained and worked in childcare in the past so for an 18 year old to get a full time nanny job is just bizzarre to me , especially with a baby who wasn't even 1 and why would they continue to hire her after so many issues. It wasn't like she was a cleaner or housekeeper she had such a big responsibility and was probably out of her depth. She was barely an adult and people seemed to forget that (obviously I'm not saying it's an excuse to hurt or neglect a child)
