The Golden Girls

[Rockin' Robin]

As you know, Channel 5 recently repeated series 1 to 4 of The Golden Girls, a hilarious 1980's sitcom about four mature Women who share a house. The one-liners it the show, were side splitting. One of my favourite episodes is when the characters reminisce about past birthday parties. Dorothy is forced to attend a kids party, at a fast food restaurant. She cringes with embarrasment, as Mr Haha the clown, tries to involve her in all the birthday activites. She eventually tells him to "get bent Haha", a definate highlight of the series.
Who is your favourite character, and which episodes and oneliners make you laugh out loud?

When I watched it as a kid in the 80s, Blanche was my favourite, but watching it now as an adult it's definitely Dorothy.

Definitely Sophia, she's so quick and witty and she's exactly the type of inappropriate old lady I want to be when I grow up!

Me and my bro watched as kids and have watched it multiple times as adults. I call him Blanche and he calls me Dorothy
One of my fave episodes is when Blanche gets delirious when trying to write a book.

Sophia's Wedding pt 2, Quentin Tarantino makes an appearance as an Elvis impersonator (He also credits the money he made from that appearance as the reason he was able to make Reservoir Dogs)

I love GG, I've got all 7 seasons, and watch them all the time!
I've also got The Golden Palace, and although its good, its definitely missing Dorothy!

I tried to watch an episode of The Golden Palace, I just couldn't get into it.

I'm so happy Disney+ has got every episode of TGG, I've been bingeing it like midnight cheesecake. It's such an easy, feel-good show to watch, the 4 actresses we're all on their best form and spark with each other brilliantly. The zingers and quips and one-liners and the delivery of them still holds up It's such a terrific show.

"I lost Anderbeau and her beau!" It's such a fun show, I love all the running gags (back in St Olaf..) So many quotable lines. "Sonny Bono, get off my lanai!"
