The Girl Before

Finished watching this earlier, certainly a bit different, a bit creepy too.
I constantly got the two leading ladies mixed up as it went back and forward in time.
It was ok, glad it was only 4 parts to be honest though.

It was 3 hours too long! I did find some moments scary (watched with fingers Infront of squinted eyes to lessen the fear! 🙈)

Edward had no charisma, I can't see anyone falling for him unless they wanted a controlling sugar daddy.

Simon was the predictable villain.
In the first episode i thought that Saul or Nelson had been paid to burglarize the original house by Simon.
Emma's story was so sad.
Was surprised to see Lisa Faulkner acting again, expected John torode to join her with some recipes
Loved all the women's outfits.

I watched it but it didn't click for me. I didn't like any of the characters, they all seemed so bland, the house bugged me as it lacked any kind of character or warmth and none of it seemed believable. I enjoyed Showtrial a lot more - the characters were so much more interesting.

i really liked this program, it was original and refreshing
however i really hated Emma! i dont know why she just annoyed me so much, and jessica plummer's overacting kind of ruined it for me
also thought the lad who played simon was a terrible actor

This is another BBC production that could have been so much better, some bits they got right like the very stark house. The book was fantastic, and this was just very meh.

i bought the book but didn’t have a chance to read it before watching show. Is it worth reading? Did the series miss much out?
