The Girl Before

I’ve read the book but I’m sure I’ve seen this before too. Does anyone know if it was on Sky or anything first?

ETA I’ve done a quick google search and I think I’m confusing it with something else.Defo read the book tho. Really rate a few if the authors thrillers.

Are you thinking of the one were the architect fell down the steps of his own house and died?

SPOILERS!!

To each their own. The main actors did an alright job - that's the only positive thing I can say about it.

It bored me senseless, and I didn't care for the ham-fisted injection of wokeness. Don't get me wrong, diversity is great if it's organic - it's when it's pushed as a political agenda that I can't stand. The moment I saw Ben Hardy's character I knew he'd be the villain because apparently all white straight cisgender men are the spawn of Satan, and that he'd probably meet his fate falling down those deathtrap stairs (I failed to predict the ludicrously on-the-nose Joy Division number playing in the background, but two out of three isn't bad I guess). I just found it all way too formulaic and predictable.

Sorry to rain on everyone else's parade. I'll show myself out.

I thought it was really good.

I ordered the book ages ago in anticipation of this (I like to read the book before watching) but it eventually turned up on Saturday and obviously started watching on Sunday.

is it worth reading the book? Does it differ at all from the show?

Thought this was a great show especially after I only managed to get through two episodes of the more hyped and advertised Showtrial.

Two points
Who wrote Help Me in the service cupboard? Simon?
Slightly unrealistic that Jane would try to give things with Edward another go (before she left him again). Even taking Emma out of the equation, Edward clearly had issues.

It annoyed me that there were never any cars parked in the spaces outside when they did the exterior shots. I thought that was really unrealistic for a city , as parking space would be in high demand.

Looks like I'm also in the minority of not liking this one! I just thought the characters weren't desperate enough in the first place to move into the place. Can't have any books or personal possessions lying around? duck off! I didn't think most of the twists worked tbh.
