The Drowning - Channel 5

I finally watched the last episode tonight. What I can't understand was why Daniel was so trusting of Jodie, after she took him to the gang's den? How come she knew these people in the first place? It seems to me, that she was not exactly the best Mother in the world, why put her alleged son in danger like that?
I'm glad I watched it though, I really like Jill Halfpenny.

why didn’t she just ask Daniels birthday?
If it had been Tom they would have just told him his birthday was on a different day. I'd query how many child abductors would know things like that anyway.

How come she knew these people in the first place?
She knew about them through the gardening guy from getting her fake DBS.

Jodie was an awful woman. Love Jill Halfpenny but her character was very unlikeable. The whole story was unrealistic especially how quickly she got a job in a school. Poor writing by Tim Dynevor who could have done with his wife or daughter in the show to help it out.

Just watched it on netflix and never seen a show with so many plot holes and unanswered questions!!

Most have been mentioned already but why was Daniels Dad so accepting of being in prison when she went to visit him and wh8 was he on the phone to about the DNA?

I appreciate I'm way behind on this and you've probably all forgot what even happened but had to read what others thought

It was insanely far fetched and their mum was soo wooden! I did sort of enjoy it though. The school secretary was a red herring which I can see from the posts made above at the time, poeple thought she’d be something to do with the disappearance of Tom
