OK so Manrika reposted this from her management and all I want to say about it is that I wish collectively we would all acknowledge that "influencer" isn't a real job and stop this nonsense that society seems to be accepting as the new normal. If you don't like public opinion of you then find a real job that isn't just 24/7 self promotion.

Controversial, I know...

Just regarding Manrikas post on insta - If I was her the worst part would just be the VOLUME of people who dislike me, that doesn’t necessarily mean these people are hateful. You’re allowed to say who you like / dislike on a prime channel 4 show. What can be done about that? It has a lot of viewers and most people agree?

If we’re not careful we’ll have no influencers left, then WHAT will we DO?!?!?

I think it’s one thing to comment on content like we all do on this forum and a whole other issue to DM them horrible messages which happens a lot to many “influencers” - that takes it a bit too far for my liking and I think it should be policed by Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc. I’m talking about actual vile and nasty messages now not just someone commenting something constructive or not agreeing with the post which a lot of them take as trolling when it’s not

The thing is, she can always pull the trump card and say she was playing a game. Which she was.
The "trolls" are just being vile... whereas... she was playing the game to the best of her ability.

I have realised catching up on this thread is the perfect way to full the crappy all4 adverts!!

Can't believe femi and pippa are going into their own apartment, the two most boring people creating one massive super bore. My husband nearly became a deacon so I have been around priests on weekend retreats and I swear the amount of wine they get through is mind blowing 😂 an actual pissed up priest would have been more exciting than those two.

I have no comment on manrika she's still an absolute sweaty ball bag and I just want to throw up in my mouth everytime felix mentions them being in an actual relationship like theyre 12 🤮

All of us still watching every night...

I agree the abusive messages are obviously bad and shouldn't be sent at all but as far as policing it goes I'm not really sure what there is much that can be done about it really ...if somebody is sending actual threats that can already be reported and it will be taken seriously but aside from that there isn't actually much policing you can do. Deleting account etc doesn't prevent people from making new ones and there's a host of issues with the proposed officially ID-ing accounts that I've seen floating about, and then there is the issue of where is the line, because realistically that's subjective.

What constitutes as abuse, criticism or opinions? I know there are some clear cut things but some people would argue that sites like this one are abusive and should be closed, some think just general comment sections containing negative comments fall under the same umbrella etc... then even if you're purely talking about direct messages sent to people, it then becomes a question of what is said and there's context to consider etc... honestly it's a total minefield for so many reasons.

Imo, at the end of the day if you choose to put yourself in the public on that scale you should expect some negativity, no matter how delightful you might be you're never going to please everyone; you can block messages/accounts, not read comments and keep moving on with your life... while I'm sure it may get overwhelming for those facing large amounts of critism it's not entirely the same as actual harassment, and tbh these are just some of the reasons that I think the whole "influencer" thing shouldn't be as promoted, paid, normalised or glorified as it is.

There's a lot of issues that come with it, for the influencers and the consumers alike tbh.

I hate the term influencer. I can guarantee none of them have done a days bloody hard work in their life. Infuriates me

I dont understand how manrika can claim racism or sexism as a motive for the hate - isnt Hashu from a similar community and yet he isnt getting a load of hate so how can she claim racial motivation? Tally is a female but not getting a load of hate so how can she claim sexism?. The difference is Hashu and Tally are nice people and the hate is a direct response to her behaviour not that she is a female from a certain community.
