When this show first started the men always dominated, but in the last few years the men have been really poor and the women are making it to the end.

Does anyone have a theory on why this is?
Every candidate seems to be dreadful. I don't know why it's always the women making it to the final because they're also crap as well, but if we had men in the final then we'd definitely have more variety than sweets and hair! 😔

I remember when previous contestants actually understood business, like back when Susan Ma was in it. Now there are people who don't even understand the numbers or the diff between turnover and profit!

Yes I agree the quality has really gone down but why are the men so weak now?
When the series first started the women would be sidelined and often ignored by the men. They had to work really hard to be noticed and respected. Now we have the opposite where the women dominate the men and don't listen to them at all. I find it really strange.

BBC is full on woke. They would have made sure of an all female final. You can’t tell me Simba was as tit as the 5 who were left.

I've been taking the piss out of Alan up to now about how wooden & disinterested he looked, after last night I actually feel a bit sorry for him & am amazed he's managed to show any enthusiasm at all knowing what a poor lot he'd got this year.

If they chose these expecting fireworks or idiots being on show, it really failed as nobody has really stood out at all (I'm still struggling to remember names). You've got to presume that's why these were chosen & not for their business acumen or plans.

Whole thing has been dire & barely watchable, used to be something I really looked forward to in past years too. Hopefully viewing figures are down, they'll see how poorly it's been thought of & review going forward. Change is needed!

Like others have said this years candidates haven't been great.. Out of the 2 left I think Marnie will win. She's not been my favourite candidate at all, I just think her plan is more interesting imo.

The interviews is usually my favourite episode but this years felt like it was cut into short clips of them being ripped to shreds. Like usually they are more balanced and there are some positives on their business plans/performance in the tasks.

Marnie is the only credible winner, even though I don’t like her. She has gone for a non “girly” basic idea to something that is different, although not too unusual. They ripped her business plan apart but presumably it passed muster for the Sport England process so it can’t have been that bad.

These candidates have been woeful. Someone upthread mentioned Susan Ma. Look at her business Tropic Skincare. Can you imagine her going into the boardroom with sink plunger lips and dreaming of mermaids. They are not credible business people. They are an embarrassment. Look at that Scottish guy dropped for being pissed thinking he is the big man because he was on telly. That’s all he wanted, to be on telly. It has become another entry into fame. They are not leaders unless you count running a bank of phones in a call centre.

Oh for the days of Ruth Badger and all the other stellar characters the show has thrown up over the years. Identikit numpties forever now I fear.

It's the law diminishing returns in reality TV.
Big Brother started off as an experiment with ordinary people and descended into a cast of vacuous idiots desperate for attention 🙄
The Apprentice is now the same.

Sweets, cake, hair and fillers is a bit depressing isn't it. That's part of why I like Marnie, her business isn't just anti feminist guff. And also she's very well accomplished, having passed the bar and that. I like that she's really confident as well in herself without yes being an identikit filler and botox barbie

The fact that Dani didn’t even know what a USP was and used a business plan template that she forgot to edit the NDA from is so irritating as a viewer
She probably did put her business plan together in a bout two weeks as she was lined up for Love Island before this popped up. She even said to Karen she didn’t expect to get as far as she did, probably because she knew she wasn’t a business woman but a wannabe influencer who would do reality tv to boost her numbers. She’ll definitely go down that route now.

I wonder how long after he series did Sir Alan actually invest in Susan Ma’s business. She didn’t even make it to the final if I remember rightly

I know, it’s a shame after such good representation of females in business in the older series (and some of the newer ones)..women who worked in the construction sector etc. now it’s all sweet shops and crap hair salons

He invested in Tropic skincare the same year that her season was aired. 50% of the business for 200k which I think is the same as her winning the show.

Never understood why she didn't get into the final!

Agreed, it's like going back in time in terms of female representation.
There's nothing wrong with a 'girly' business if the market wasn't so bloody saturated! They're crap and unoriginal ideas by influencer wannabes.

Disappointed with last night’s episode. It was depressing that they made some really basic mistakes. Victoria could have gone through her business plan with someone she trusted beforehand? 33 spelling errors and no provision for staff costs are terrible mistakes to make.
Also, why do they do a 30 minute You’re Fired episode for three candidates fired before the final. It doesn’t seem right that someone like Emma (remember her?) gets a 30 minute episode and last night’s was ten minute per candidate. Rant over.

Jacqueline Gold died. She would have been a better adviser than Bradey. Baroness Bradey to me.

The Baroness - if you’d please - was such a try-hard last night. I liked Claudine Collins because she was the one who usually got the candidates crying, but by being quite delicate with them

Kaz only had two of them crying because she was being a disappointed maternal figure, having been with them throughout the process
