Alcaraz is a fantastic player and a lovely chap, but I cannot stand the noises he makes. I find them so off putting, that I have to put his games on mute.
It’s the loudness of them.

Jannik looks close to tears, I swear. It’s like he’s not really on court yet. And obviously, the crowd is going insane. I hope he’s ok, but this is truly weird.

Something must be bothering him because there is no way that he should be losing to Moutet like this.
Maybe it’s the recent injury flaring up :( Moutet is playing well, but Jannik isn’t giving him any fight so far (he‘s just managed a break, but I’d say that was more because Moutet made mistakes).

When I first saw the score my first thought was that it's the recent injury flaring up again.

I’m watching Dimitrov - Hurkacz and Hubert asked Grigor at the break if he wanted to change the chair umpire. He (Hubert) keeps getting stroppy 😂 Had a soft spot for Dimitrov for years, I hope he can win this.

Do you think he will retire from the match?
Maybe. He doesn’t move badly, but the way he didn’t run in the first set makes me think that something must be up. Maybe the injury flared up in training and he thought he could still play the match. He‘s definitely cautious, so yeah, he might retire.

Edit: rolling my eyes at the crowd tbh. Yes it’s great that their man is doing well against the no 2 in the world, but come on.
Nooo Jannik just put his hands on his back :(

I apologize for my double posting and excessive commenting on this match, but I think Jannik is determined to do this by sheer will-power and because he knows that Moutet can’t possibly keep up his level of play from the first set.

Whatever was bothering Jannik in the first set, he found his way out of it, with the help of an increasingly agitated Moutet. I hope he didn’t risk anything physically by continuing to play.

OMG, I switched off the Djokovic v Cerundolo match in a bad humour after the 1st set. Just switched it back on expecting it to be over, and am so happy Cerundolo has turned it around! Hope he can keep it going now!!!!
