Tennis #3 🎾

I switched over to the swimming (another GB gold 🏅 hurrah!) and while they wait for the swimmer interviews they’re showing the last tie break from 6,6 so I am now watching it a THIRD time and not complaining 😂
Still on a high
I rewatched it too. I didn’t see the end of the match properly because I was so fixated on the men’s swimming relay. Andy and Dans reaction after their win is just wonderful to see. They both deserve this so much. Dreading the next match. Might need extra propranolol for that 😂

Is the app I'm using right? 3 men's doubles QF tomorrow as well as the match that decides who the Brits are playing. Then 1 QF with the Brits on Thursday?

I’ll be joining with pregabalin or promethazine 😂

Yep, good news that the 🇬🇧 duo have a day off and Dan is out of singles.

Whereas Taylor Fritz has mixed and men’s doubles and singles to play, and Tommy Paul has a men’s singles and doubles before the GB match. Maybe some silver lining to Draper losing is Fritz has more matches to tire him out ahead of the QF. Assuming they win tomorrow

Looks like the men's doubles quarters are happening tomorrow, with the semis on Thursday, bronze medal match on Friday, and the final on Saturday.
The Olympic tennis schedule is tough if you’re competing in more than singles only. I know the atp/wta seasons don’t stop and the hardcourt season has basically begun, but maybe they should rethink this and stretch tennis competitions over two weeks, with singles in the first, doubles/mixed in the second.

Still in Paris (until Saturday) and the weather truly was brutal yesterday. It turned towards more than 40 degrees at one point, and didn’t even cool down in the evening. It’s raining now but it’s going to be humid today 🥵 can’t imagine that these conditions are amazing to play in, thank goodness they’re playing best of three

Please could someone explain Dan losing the points? I’m not well versed in this area 🙏🏽
You get points for events in the tennis tour (the men's is ATP).
Dan loses his points from the tournament he won them in last year and as he's not in the tournament this year he can't defend the points.
The Olympics isn't in the tennis tour so no ATP points are earnt.
Tennis tour continues during the olympics so people have to choose what they want to do.
With less points it affects him on the tour and his ranking.

The points from this years event at Washington will replace those gained from last year. The ATP rankings work on a rolling basis - points from the previous 52 weeks.

Taylor Fritz is supposed to be playing three matches today, but his singles doesn't start until midday. Olympic tennis needs to be over an extra couple of days, or only allow players to take part in two events.

I guess with a third set tiebreaker for doubles even with frtiz in three it could end up being about the same time as one really long match in a slam.

I have to say I'm warming to him after Zverev being a bleep when losing and Fritz rising above it all. Although I hope he's sufficiently exhausted if he meets the Brits in the doubles 😁
