He did move there. This is all I could find.
Pretty awful he hadn’t seen her in 4 years at the point she was graduating HS

I've always thought this too as his mother always seemed so stable when she was on the show and the opposite of Tyler's dad.

Tyler's parents were never married to each otherand I think they were youngish when they had them (maybe I'm wrong) I remember Tyler saying that his mother left Butch when Tyler was 4 months old and she had to work 2 jobs to provide for him and his sister so they struggled a lot financially. Butch was in and out of prison his whole life and was addicted to drugs. Kim seems pretty amazing really. Tyler broke the cycle, sadly his sister didn't.

Poor Cate and Tyler. The crap they have been through with their families since they were kids is horrendous and no child should ever have to go through that. They work really hard to break the cycle and I really hope they can. I think they should keep the visits with Carly to themselves, the whole reason they gave her up for adoption is because of their cooked families. So their families shouldn't be allowed to be involved in the visit especially when they clearly can't behave or do simple things like not drink during the visit 🤦‍♀️

She’s just confirmed she did actually have a baby and people are saying she’s pregnant with twins now.
