You’re very passionate about posts that are aimed at what we’re actually seeing on the TV. No one is being ableist, they’re simply having an opinion about how Chloe is coming across, maybe MTV have edited it this way, but you can’t accuse people of being ableist based on this. Especially as you have no idea who we are and what we’re going through in our own lives. For one, I too suffer with the same conditions as Chloe and it is very different to how it is being portrayed which is annoying me but at the end of the day it’s an edited reality show 🤷🏼‍♀️
One more thing… are you Chloe? 👀

I can accuse comments like the example I have used above as being ableist because they are ableist comments when they imply that when disabled people manage to do anything outside their remit they must be faking or hamming it up all the other times.

Clearly not Chloe - I’ve been an active tattle poster for years especially in the original teen mom uk thread and Elle Darby thread where I talk where I talk about being from Bath (unlike Elle) - which last time I checked is nowhere near Pontefract.

when are people going to stop being offended on behalf of other people?

You're watching the same show as us. Surely you can see the contradictions even slightly. She can't do the smallest tasks at home yet she's fine to do the pageant. And no. Before you start, I'm not saying "disabled people can't do anything fun because they're disabled". I'm saying it's contradictory. It comes across on the show as if she picks and chooses when her conditions affect her. We're all watching the same show and the consensus between majority on this thread shows there must be some truth in what we're all saying.

I'm not ableist. I have genuine empathy for people who suffer life affecting conditions, but I also get frustrated by people like Chloe who seemingly choose when their conditions affect them. I'm not denying she suffers. I'm basing my opinion on what I (and apparently many others) have witnessed on the show.

No need being offended on her behalf. Nobody is being ableist or trying to pretend these conditions don't exist.

All I have I said is that certain comments that people have made - mainly surrounding the pageants - are ableist. I have given some examples of said comments.

People are just looking for something to be offended by it seems. The way one user has stated about how their family has disabilities, it’s completely irrelevant? If you call someone you know who has a thyroid problem a twat it doesn’t mean you’ve stated everyone with a thyroid problem is one 😭 Everyone is commenting on an individual person.. even the person going mad about the ‘benefit fraud’ subject.. plenty of people claim benefits and plenty of people do fraud why are you so offended? Stop internalising everything and thinking a finger is pointing at you because it really isn’t. Like me saying I don’t like people talking about Whitney’s big boobies because people in my family identify as having big titties so you must be talking about them 🤣🤣

She actually explained how she managed to get through pageants when she explained about the adrenaline rush she experiences on stage. Also I feel like this thread/ only focuses on her endo as this is the narrative the show has pushed but if she has fibro she more than likely will suffer FOLLOWING the pageant - ie payback/post exertional malaise/fatigue.

She’s the one that only mentions her endo and says it’s what causes her pain 🤷🏻‍♀️

Shame she can’t seem to push through for her child though 🤔

As someone with the same conditions as Chloe no comments have been offensive or ableist in my opinion. I’m speaking from someone who’s had these conditions nearly 10 years as well as b12, folate, iron, vitamin d deficiency which make me extremely exhausted. I’m telling you now if she was well enough to walk on stage she was not in a bad flare up. I’m talking from YEARS of experience. I don’t care if people disagree or tell me I’m wrong because I’m talking from experience. I don’t doubt Chloe suffers, I know they’re extremely painful conditions but I can guarantee if she was in a flare up she wouldn’t be able to leave bed let alone get on stage. I do feel sorry for her with everything she’s going through but equally I know the scenes showed on tv aren’t a true reflection of the conditions and come across very fake and acted for ‘entertainment’. Mtv have obviously told her to act as if she’s in a flare etc which isn’t fully her fault I blame mtv. They did it with Donna before, hate to say it but I thought Donna was going to die and she seems really good at the moment from what I’ve read. No one is suggesting if you’re disabled you can’t do anything or can’t have fun and they’re not talking about you specifically. People are just commenting on how the scenes come across. We need to remember this is a tv show, it’s not a full reflection of reality

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼my family member with endo also says the same as you. She said the stair scene was ridiculous 🤣

I was just going to say something similar about MTV, they probably don’t think it’s very interesting to show Chloe being able to do things so potentially exaggerate how she’s feeling. I try not to comment on her conditions as I don’t know much about them, but from the very little I know I don’t think MTV are doing a very good job at raising awareness or showing the up and down nature of them.

Same as you about Donna, I was genuinely surprised that she was still alive at the end of the first series with how her illness was portrayed. Definitely wouldn’t put it past MYV to deliberately mislead for views.

I’ve said before but I get severe period pains and a tens machine is the only thing that helps me. I’ve felt like I’m going to pass out from the pain before. Endo must be even worse than that but she can take a 2 hour drive for a pageant show?
Sounds like endo have you been reffered to Gynae for it? But yeah I’ve fainted before from the pain and also had morphine codeine and mefenamic acid not even touch the pain

I’m not being funny and I could be talking a load of 💩 here but I have a family member that suffers with blood clots for 30 odd years it hills him walking but he’s a dick head and stubborn to walk but even looking at him and the sounds he makes you can tell he’s in physical pain considering he likes to hide it to not have a fuss. Like even when he went to his DWP assessment for disability the nurse wouldn’t do a full assessment with how much pain he was in. He’s still wary where he goes though because of his pain even the morphine doesn’t help 24/7

Now if Chloe was in that much pain even if it was a good day. Surely she wouldn’t risk doing something like a pageant? Like what if the pain suddenly appears standing there or it suddenly flares up as she’s walking making a show of herself because suddenly she’s pulling pain faces or having to crouch because she’s in pain.

This is just my take on it from looking at someone in family that’s always in pain I know it’s different to what Chloe has

No not been referred. It hasn’t been that bad where I’ve felt like I’m gonna collapse for a few years, not since I found codeine and mefenamic acid

I agree with you 100%!! I have endo and fibro and have vit d, b12 and iron deficiency too since I was 15. No one is saying she’s lying about having the conditions or being in pain. But we’re not ableist for saying there’s inconsistencies, and she seems to be able to ‘cope’ when it benefits her. I’m not offended by any of the ‘ableist’ comments, but I am offended by how Chloe/MTV are portraying these conditions

Ellie on live is giving me the resemblance of a flushed away character
---
Is anyone else watching? When she started shouting at alexa to play kissofree 😭😭😭it’s kisstory ffs
I’m not backing Ellie up and I don’t believe she has been diagnosed with dyslexia but if she has it could be why she pronounced it wrong. Like I use to say rim-Mel instead of remmel and to this day I still can’t say phonnemenon (can’t even spell it) I try my best to avoid saying or spelling certain words if I’m not 100% confident confident saying or spelling it that’s even with very common everyday words

she said just before she can’t get a job as she can’t fill the form in cause she’s ‘got dyslexic’ and kept reading command as comment. She then just started going on about sunbeds again after that tho🤣

They’re a god send honestly 😂 if it ever flares again definitely ask to be referred for a scan. Hope the pain eases for you x
Thank you.

Plenty of dyslexic people work though. What does she think they all do to live?

If she can read comments then she can fill a form out or get someone to scribe for her to get it filled in. Just not many people realise pronunciation is part of dyslexia, people seem to think it’s just reading and writing

Probably thinks we all claim disability. I actually bumped into a girl once and when she found out I was dyslexic she made a full on conversation about how she is too and she actually dropped out of college because it was really hard coursework wise and I felt bad standing there saying I done my alevels and degrees even though I’m dyslexic 😂 she’s in a benefit disability family who plays on everything to get everything
