Also known of people to retain PR of older children but be deemed not capable of looming after younger children. But would mean the older child is on some sort of CP register as a minimum.
I can also see how allowing your partner to have the kids majority of the time could be seen as a major duck you. My bestie is going thru a MAJOR custody battle with her ex hubby. He doesnt want to pay child maintenance so instead says he's going for full custody (cutting off his nose to spite his face.) She's called his bluff and said yeah no problem they're all yours....granted she's had to be pretty confident he'd soon come running back but hes fairly predictable. Yet here we are a fee months down the line and many a report from yours truly of him being 30 mins late collecting kids from school....and BAM custody has reverted back to my best friend as he's admitted he can't manage the kids full.time

It could happen, I’ve said before over a lad who went into residential care, brother got adopted but parents still had his sister. It wary varies. As someone who’s been in the system I don’t really understand it but it does depend on circumstances and about dad’s involvement when they aren’t together and assessments would be done and what the court thinks.

I don’t fully understand it either! Sometimes parents say they can’t cope with some kids but can others and give up PR for the ones they can’t.

Yes i had a boyfriend when i was a teenager he was in care but his siblings with his parents still.
