The difference is that there is a massive social safety net in the UK. The girls in the U.S were truely on their own if their parents weren't around to help them. They all had to work and try to pay rent/daycare. There's no council flats or dole. Also they all tried to finish school too which was such a struggle. None of the UK moms tried to further their education as the government is looking after them.
Urm there is just as much support for low income families in US as there is in the UK.. it’s just not as controversial/talked about as much. They have their own version of low income housing, WIC, Medicaid etc

Yeah I remember a few of the teen moms/16 and pregnant lot talking about getting help. I do think the process is more complicated than ours and may have more requirements. Something is in the back of my mind about someone accepting help with housing and it wasn’t straightforward, may have been Kailyn. Probably varies from state to state too.

I think the systems and charity’s in place in the US are known for being much harder to navigate/viewed as more shameful and rather than most of the support being from the same place you have to apply for all different sorts of programmes and help separately.. Welfare in the US is known for creating more barriers.. The UK benefit system is relatively easy to navigate. The US do have types of assistance though but it is more of food stamp situations, only being able to live in really bad areas as no one accepts the subsidised rent (housing benefit) etc.. Has anyone watched Maid on Netflix?.. It really shows how hard it is and how fucked up their systems are 😢 x

That’s not true. The USA has welfare, food stamps etc and ‘projects’. Brianna on TM two gave up what we would call her council house before she bought her recent home in Florida

I thought she lived in a private rental in Orlando? Before she bought the house they live in now.. What makes you think it was social housing?

I loved that show

Because she was always getting haters going on about it. A lot of the ‘projects’ are bad but I have family in social housing in California and it’s a housing association type similar to here. Someone said Sassis new house is housing association

Sad that Erin is liking things like this. I think it’s clear she will always be second best and she must feel it. I hope she gets some self respect and moves on. Even watching ‘Mia’s story’ before the new series started even Manley’s mum an sister were saying they’ve never seen Manley so in love as he was with Mia and how heartbroken he was when they split up. Erin just seems like the easy option. Erin looks dead behind the eyes in the new series, like she’s completely lost herself.

I get your point but what I meant was there seems to be a difference in what would be allowed to be shown compared to them. Like if one of the Uk girls was shown driving drugged up to the eyeballs to their wedding, almost crashing their car, I think the show would get cancelled for sure

So true. It’s definitely British attitudes, US reality TV is way more trashy and seems to care less about ‘entertainers’ well being. Like all that stuff that happened with Megan apparently having a mental break down and crashing her car so they took her out of the series for a bit.. and all the child custody stuff.. If that was in the US they would’ve capitalised on it all. They didn’t even mention any of it on the series just said she was taking a break.

They didn’t recognise the traits at all, she only said it because people kept commenting it and it was an easy explanation for her lazy parenting. She’s made no effort to be a good parent (in the environment, way she spoke to B etc) from before he even had chance to show any difficult behaviours.

a lot of send families do experience dysfunction of course, but again, Brooklyns behaviour cannot be blamed for Ambers. She has plenty of time and resources to tidy her house and work on how she behaves to/around the kids. And she hasn’t been battling people either, this isn’t a devoted mum who’s spent years fighting the system - she just accepted his”bad” behaviour as being a difficult boy and spent years yelling instead of doing anything. She’s only doing something now because people told her to.

I am so so tired of people making out amber has no breaks or no help!! She has every weekend!! And Brooklyn is in full time school! Am I the only parent who gets 3 hours alone max? 😂 cause even if she did spend the evenings relaxing, fine, she still does f all in the day& weekends to give the kids a good, safe, relaxing and happy environment. Again, even the way she speaks to those poor kids explains so much of brooklyns behaviour, even if he does have autism/adhd there is no justification for the tone she has always spoken to those boys in. As well as the shoving, dragging, throwing stuff etc

I remember an early scene where B wants a yoghurt, he’s asking A for ages to open it, even put her hand on it to get her to open it & she’s ignoring him screaming at Ste. He’s shouting back & Brooklyn starts yelling, pushing & hitting Ste out of frustration for it. No one can tell me they aren’t directly responsible for a lot of his difficulties regardless of any diagnoses
I don't get any time, my boyfriend works full time so expects evenings to himself and my parents don't help, soooo yeah I feel you homie but my house is spotless at all times of day so wtf is Amber's excuse

I forget about that but that’s true. We would have seen everything with Megan. We would see the producers turning up to Dylan’s house to film and Megan trying to get the kids back

I wonder if Megan had her BPD diagnosis before or after she was on the show. BPD is a very complex disorder and tough to live with. She mentions it but not in any detail. I wonder if that was one of her reasons for coming off the show
I think she was diagnosed with that during the break off the show. In early seasons she struggled with depression, was put on medicine etc just before the break so surely it would’ve been mentioned then that she has BPD. She always just said it was depression at that time. She also has said she struggled with an eating disorder at one point.. this makes me think it was in the break too that this all happened at once because she was noticeably much smaller when she returned (this could’ve just been regular weight loss though as we only saw her either pregnant or just after having babies) . I think during her time off she went through it quite a bit .

You need to check out the Ashley cain threads on here. All is certainly not what it seems in regard to the Azaylia Foundation. There is a whole wiki on there surrounding the misspending of the go fund me that was set up for azaylia. Makes for very interesting reading!
Yeah the call him cashley vain. There is pages and pages on tattle claiming proof of misuse of funds. A whole lot of work done, not just gossip. I’m 😷

Spoilers!!

As much as I think Sassi and Darren co parent well some episodes, in others they’re so irate! Screaming at each other on a family day out, I’ve definitely yelled with my partner in the car 😂 but you keep your tit together when you’re actually there. They’re so volatile!

I think we’ll see flying pigs before Chloe and Jordan make it down the aisle. He wants a long engagement, she looks very uncomfortable at her own engagement party. I really can’t fathom how they don’t realise they’re completely on different pages.

Amber speaking with the doctor was really similar to my oldest boy, he masks symptoms sometimes and we struggle to get taken seriously. I felt bad for her because they clearly went their for help and didn’t get any.

Mia and Marley sniggering about Erin was really cringe to watch. She definitely should’ve spoken to her and thanked Erin for coming to Marilya’s party, why invite her to blank her?

Also Manley’s outfit in that last scene. What the hell 😂😂😂
