I have just turned off TalkRadio, I didn't know who I was listening to but the presenter's OTT hey isn't it a beautiful sunny day type intro, then straight into talking about the Plymouth tragedy was such an insensitive clunky gear change it was unbearable.

The current presenter is Claudia-Liza (can’t spell her surname). Not really heard much of her show but apparently a Channel 5 newsreader.

Although I enjoy listening to Howard Hughes sometimes, do any of you think he genuinely believes the stories from people he has on? It is odd how the people he talks to seem to have such vivid and believable stories.

Patrick wasn't a main presenter for long 😯
Seems like this is going to be a thing now. GB poaching presenters but I suppose it could work the other way too.

Having heard Rob Rinder, I like him. Can't say I was a big fan of either Mark nor Patrick whenever I heard them. Rob seems to be a lot more calm and measured.

Alison blowing smoke up bm arse. I actually think it is bollocks regarding Alison post, just another way to seem relateable and get engagment.

It cannot actually get more awks than the James whale/Kevin o sullivan hand over tonight
Kev wasn't as diplomatic as usual though. Wonder when he's going to punch James? 🙈

Not for as long as Whale is broadcasting from home! I'd be interested to see how one of these clashes would unfold in the studio.

Whale seems to be getting tons of negative feedback now, all of his YouTube clips are ratioed like crazy and his style is off-putting. I don't listen (and have muted TR on Twitter to avoid seeing clips of his outbursts) but how can TR justify keeping him at this point? Unless they really can't find anyone due to the rivalry with GB News poaching a good chunk of previous presenters and those who could have potentially been added to the lineup this time last year.

Haha they are always doing that. I swear they need to cut out the handovers, it's cringey no matter who does it. LBC don't mess around, the presenters just say thanks to the next presenter and then their show ends. I remember when Nick Abbot and Matt Stadlen did them, they weren't great. I noticed that Paul Ross hasn't bothered with the handovers with James lately.

Some handovers aren't too bad, any of the ones that Mike Graham does are fine (with Julia before and then Ian or sometimes Cristo after). It's always more awkward when presenters are either extremely different and have no rapport at all or both a bit hot headed (Kev/James in the latter camp).

Paul Ross almost always did a handover with Cristo so that's interesting that he hasn't went into the TR studio to chat with James recently. Maybe he's just sticking with the folks at TalkSport.

Also, James and Ash can be ok, but Ash mumbles a lot and tries to be funny, and James often makes himself sound ignorant and ill informed on issues. He is also not consistent with opinions. I do try to listen to them, but they do ramble on. They had an economics person on last week who is a somewhat regular on the show and there was a point where James and Ash went off topic, talking amongst themselves and rambling, and the woman sort of rolled her eyes with a deep breath as if she was thinking 'bloody hell guys, you brought me on here to talk about a topic and start going off on a tangent, why bother.' which they often do.

Yeah I could probably agree with that regarding Kevin and James. I just find James brash, almost itching for an argument and to be controversial. He doesn't seem to be able to censor what he says, it's clumsy. Such as the other week when
he was in for Kevin. Thatcher was being spoke about in the news for some reason, and then he was raving about her on his show, speaking about what she did and being a great PM. He did the handover with Darryl Morris (a left leaning northerner) and proceeded to speak about how Thatcher was great and how she did a good thing to close the mines. Like bleeping hell James, read the room FFS.

He really said that when talking to Darryl? FFS, he's obviously void of any tact. And you're totally right that it seems like he's desperate to provoke an argument, maybe it's just for attention but I don't find it remotely entertaining or thought provoking and I say that as someone who generally prefers presenters to show a bit of personality (which is why I dodge the BBC stations and much of LBC's daytime output). I think he's lost the plot completely - about a week or so ago, he seemed to be spending much of his day targeting a pub owner on Twitter and getting him to come on the show. Once the show started and it was obvious the guy would not call in, he got blocked.

I think he's oblivious to the fact that nobody (except for crazies like Ken the religious guy) actually wants to listen and especially not call into a show where there is a huge chance of the presenter shouting at them and calling them an idiot regardless of how their opinion is expressed, and that's his problem.

It's all well and good being a bit controversial, but surely being argumentative and calling people names, especially your own colleagues, just leads to people resenting him. Who wants a colleague like that ffs. I wouldn't be surprised if Kevin refuses to do the handover with him soon. He's now argued with Mike Graham, Cristo, Kevin, probably pissed off Darryl, and probably rubs Paul Ross the wrong way too. Sooner or later he won't have a friend in the building apart from Ash lol. He's had an argument with Dawn Neesom and refused to have her on his show at the moment 🤣

I forgot he was still at home 🤦‍♀️😂
He's turned nearly all of his listeners off him calling them anti vaxxers. If those same people switch off then TR will turf him out.

Iain Lee as well when he had his late night alternative show.

Just read mention of crazy Ken the religious Scottish man there, does he still call in to TalkRadio?
I think LBC have banned him, he would call in to various programmes, mostly at night though.
"Let's look at what the Bible teaches us about this path to ruin" etc
Ken & Nick Abbot used to have some funny exchanges, I kind of miss him.

James Whale still takes his calls. Its funny when Ken sings and James and Ash Join in without knowing the words :ROFLMAO:

Iain Lee didn't get his contract renewed for quite a variety of reasons IMO but like James, one of those reasons was that he did become quite hostile with people and struck me as a loose cannon.

As for Ken - I think it's only James that entertains his calls. Cristo seemed to ban him eventually for homophobia and he doesn't seem to bother with calling any daytime shows.

Who is the utter tool (same person, various names used) whom keeps trying to justify the actions of the Taliban in Afghanistan, on LBC and numerous times on Mike Graham's show.

The guy needs to give it a rest. Any sane person doesn't agree with what he woefully tries to get across.
