I am a Talk Radio fan listening via radio whilst I work. The new breakfast show is just not doing it for me. Too shouty and I really cannot warm to Jeremy Kyle. The station really seem to be giving him elusive slots since he arrived. He was in drivetime for a short time before being moved to more of the TV work in the evenings.

I really liked Julia in a morning, especially grilling the MPs, she is so good and lets them away with nothing. She is very intelligent and knows her subjects inside out. She stores a wealth of information which she uses in good form when debating with guests.

I also like Ian Collins and enjoyed his show in the afternoon and am disappointed he is no longer on during the day. One of the better presenters on Talk. He would have been much better in the breakfast slot however the timings may not have suited him as he has two young boys. I remember he left LBC because the later hours (10pm until 1am) didn't suit when his boys were young so I wonder how long he will stay at Talk TV.
 
Was Mike Graham off ill today? I heard most of the show with Kev sitting in for him but never heard him say where Mike was.
 
I quite like Peter Cardwell. He should be on more IMO. Not shouty or trying to be a demagogue like that Kev character who is terminally lacking the gravitas to actually be one. I'm embarassed for him most of the time it sounds so awkward and forced. He's fine with TV progrmme reviews and stuff which is what he originally did IIRC (may be wrong). He lacks the chops for much else.

I dont know what's happening.
Why put Kevin in Mike's slot then get someone else to cover Kevin's slot?
Why not leave Kevin in his 3pm slot and have someone else cover for Mike?

Where is Mike anyway?

What's going on?
Julia moved to afternoons and then rumours about her being the subject of a bidding tug of war between Talk and GBNews.

Is she leaving?

The Kyle/Thorpe breakfast show is awful.

Mike's slot is coveted in their eyes (I imagine he gets their highest viewers being up against O'Brien), I don't think they want to put in a cover presenter who is totally different and may switch off viewers. Kev is the most similar to Mike so is a safe option.
 
Mike has now posted on his socials he has a few things to take care of this week, along with himself so Kev sitting in for him.
 
The new breakfast show is laughable. I bet Nicola is counting down the days until her maternity. Jeremy Kyle acts like he still can’t believe he’s back on TV. As for Cardi P, he is on too much and I find him so dull. Nice enough guy but I turn off when he’s sitting in.
