Gahhh the more I think about it, the more this annoys me. Aljaž is nice but he can't choreograph so won't be an asset and this just now sets a precedent where a pro can return. We now might never be flush of certain pros, and there's always the chance now that Grimsby can try to weasel his way back in as well.

The show is fucked on the pro front until we lose one or both of Sarah James & Gilko. It's. So. bleeping. Stagnant.

I like Aljaz don’t get me wrong but I don’t get this decision to bring him back? I get that they maybe expected Gio to be back so didn’t feel the need to hire a new male pro, but surely if they need one on short notice they could get one from one of the international versions? Pasquale? Michael? Or any other male pro. I get they want someone with experience but anyone who’s done more than 3 series of another version of Strictly would be fine.

Yeah, I always feel once you're gone, you're gone. Move on. I don't like the idea of old pros coming back either. I mean, I like Aljaz well enough but he already felt quite stale by the time he'd left.

They could basically have taken anyone from the Irish show, much less VISA hoops to jump around there.

A few of the other European versions were also on hiatus this year, so plenty of dancers from those shows who would yes in a heartbeat.
 
It seems like a safe return to cover the Gio stuff. But it proves once again that it's not all greener on the other side and nobody is bigger than the ballroom. Every one that has left to pursue other media careers has flopped hard.

AJ - Flopped
Kevin - riding the coat tails of Stacy and done bugger all himself
Oti - That awful dating show and then a bad judge on ITV

Kevin is a dick but this isn't true, he's had consistent stage work since he left.
