Looking at the DM articles, it is the same people commenting about how marvellous he is. Would the majority of the general public (excluding the Beryls) really be that bothered if he didn’t return?

Fortunately Hannah is too tall for him. I get the feeling she’d get Kai or Jojo.

Katya and Graz could both get a middler, Jojo has arguably had a ‘duffer’ in Annabel they just happened to do quite well. I think Nikita might get a duffer and Vito deffo will. Lauren, Gorka and Jowita are all due contenders this year so I’d argue all the best ones aren’t gone.

i have to say i don’t get the jowita is due a contender argument - she’s only done two series, one where she won 🤣 she’s fine to have another middler imo.

Yeah she’s probably more likely getting a middler, personally I’d just like to see what she could do with a ringer, given that Hamza was more of a middler and she did some amazing routines with him!

As someone has said above she is too tall for him, so that's good (otherwise in a year's time she'd inevitably be labelled a workshy diva who didn't listen). I quite like her but I think eg her and Jojo could easily be Too Much together.

I see calls for a boycott if he doesn't get a partner, but I think most people won't care. People in my life who like Strictly have all said they've gone off him.
It'll depend on whether he's filming again with Anton I think, as to whether he does all the pre-recorded dances. Last year he buggered off in August to do the Spanish one.

I can’t see Hannah Waddingham doing it any time soon: she’s on a massive upward career trajectory just now.

A (potentially) three-month reality tv commitment is generally for people who either haven’t got much else on and are filling a gap, their career is flagging and they want to remind people they exist, their career is at a fledgling stage and they want to raise their profile, they’re a BBC soap-actor/presenter and have been subjected to the thumbscrews, or they’ve got an unexpected tax bill to pay and they need a chunk of cash.

[obvs now that I’ve said that she will be the first contestant announced for 2025, as my Strictly predictions are notoriously crap 😁]
 
They may be vocal but it's always a minority of viewers who threaten to boycott. Like really, millions will still tune into Strictly whoever is benched or let go. That's why I think "There will be outrage if x pro is benched" is total bollocks - okay, some will be upset but they'll either watch anyway or sit the series out. So what?

My bad, in my haste I had forgotten all about the height difference! If Hannah was to do it (and it’s a big if) I reckon she would command most of 2024’s budget. In terms of partner, Kai would be a good call or maybe Graz.

I wonder if FR will get another series with Anton, I have deliberately stayed away from it, but the clips and reviews on Gogglebox haven’t exactly been favourable - I think Mary told Giles something along the lines that it was a programme to be shown in nursing homes 😂😂

I think all of the celebs get payed a standard rate of 25ish grand, then it goes to 40 if you get to Blackpool, 60 if you get to the quarter finals, 75 for getting to the final and then the winner gets 100 grand (correct me if I'm wrong as I probably am!) so she wouldn't be taking up the budget. I think for a lot of celebs the moneys not worth it.
Edit: Obviously that's a ridiculous amount of money but for super rich celebrities I don't think 75k for 3 months of dance training 8 hours a day, 6 days a week is really worth it!

I was flicking through the channels the other day and happened upon Gogglebox discussing what I think was the Anton & Gio thing.

Choice comments included:
“All I can say about this programme is that it’s taking up time”
“I love it. Because it’s so bad”
“Do you think they thought it would be better than it is?”
