The 2021 series with Katie McGlynn was the last one where he still looked really good.

Then he rocked up for the Helen year with the much shorter hair, and it's spiralled from there...

I'd love Katya to get a female Layton (might have been an idea to partner her with Ashley Roberts)

Kayta is by far the best pro. The fact her only win is with Joe McFadden is criminal.

And before people start criticising Joe - don't!!! He produce fabulous dances, particularly the Cabaret Samba. I thought they'd earmarked him for elimination that week such was the set up. But they were just brilliant.

And that's my problem with Vito. None of his dances have been that memorable. I thought it was partly due to his partners - Fleur East (bland tv presenter) and Ellie - the mardy teenager from Corrie. But Joe McFadden isn’t exactly Mr Charisma. But he could bring out his acting skills when he needed to.

I know I'll get shot down in flames cos this is "We Love Vito" central but honestly - he does "nice" dances and nothing more.

I could probably go through every pro and pick a stand out routine for everyone. Except Vito.

Even Kai - his routines with Angela on the tour were incredible.

Whereas Ellie seemed to known mostly for her bad wig. Which was a shame cos she was a "nice" wee dancer.

And I'll finish on this. I really hope Vito drops the mad Italian routine this year. Its equal parts of annoying/demeaning. Graz does the enthusiastic Italian much better.

That’s the beauty of dance, different people like different things from dancers and choreography. For me Vito stands out as a dancer and for most of his choreography - think I must be on the same wave length as Matthew Bourne as he commented a few times about how good Vito is but I love contemporary twists on dance - whether it is on ballet or ballroom or Latin, etc. Contemporary twists isn’t for everyone.

He is very graceful and balletic. Matthew definitely said he’s the best pro he’s ever seen on Strictly. Would love to see Vito do some work with him actually.

I think she will be desperate to be back with a partner, it is a big part of her motivation to get back to “normal” it seems. It is going to be tricky finding the right partner for her though I think. Rightly or wrongly it is not going to be about the celeb and it will be interesting to see how TPTB handle that. Dianne let her desperation to win show through for the last series and got a lot of stick for it. Then there is Gio. What happens when the pro becomes the story not the celeb?

I didn't used to mind DS but they're a bit mental! I generally like it here better - we have different views but we rub along fine. Apart from that time I got accused of being racist cos I didn't like Vito and Fleur!!!

On the tour - for the paso. Happened so often you might suspect it was a set-up.

Dianne needs benching this year.

Her antics went way beyond acceptable, jumping into people's conversations on social media to tell them why Bobby was so extra special compared to whoever they were saying they were enjoying or had become their favourite.
Viewers should be free to like any contestant they want without a pro dancer jumping in pushing their agenda or implying they're wrong.

Buswell is currently doing acting lessons if she's that serious then should get on with it now and not let that glittery door hit on the way out.
 
a horrible thought just occurred to me

all the best ones (nikita, vito, graz, jojo, katya) are due duffers this year aren't they?

It'll be a horrible mess

I just hope tptb have the good sense to pair up carlos with a mega ringer. Im thinking lisa scott lee or olly alexander

Vito yes, I don't think any of the others are though. Graz is due a contender surely having had Judi & Zara in the past 3 years (Kym being his only good one, and even she was never a likely finalist). Johannes has done well recently, but whilst John was a contender, nobody expected Ellie & Annabel to go as far as they did. He could be due another proper chance before he hangs up his SCD shoes.

Nikita & Katya I'm not 100% sure on. I don't really get the idea that Nikita is for sure getting a duffer - many, many male pros follow up their first finalist with someone decent. It's not like Nikita has had a Vito/Gio/Kevin draw, obviously Layton was great but Tilly & Ellie not so much. I don't expect Katya to get a ringer, but she has had two men over 50 in a row, so will probably get someone a bit younger this time.

2024 probably won't be a great series for Vito or Dianne fans, but I don't see anyone else totally ruled out of a chance.

Yeah I remember Kevin Clifton saying Vito was his favourite pro too. For me he’s easily the best male dancer.
I’m sure Vito will give his all to Su Pollard this year. Hard to predict if they’ll win the first dance-off against Amy and David Attenborough though.

I see Hannah Waddingham is being mooted - surely too successful? Gio is pals with her and will be creaming his Guccis at the thought of snagging her given that they’re pals

Hannah Waddingham being a friend of Gio’s has put me right off her. She has been riding the crest of the celebrity wave recently (with good reason as she is brilliant) but we all know how the fame game works, and I think partnering her with Gio would be the start of her crash 😫 (it would certainly land her some more unfavourable dm column inches)

If the news is correct that Gio is coming back, I would hope he would get a duffer or be benched, and then eek his way out the door quietly. I presume if he is back, he will be expected to partake more in the group dances this year - will he be at the back of the pack though?

Looking at the DM articles, it is the same people commenting about how marvellous he is. Would the majority of the general public (excluding the Beryls) really be that bothered if he didn’t return?
