Yes, Tony's Tango in Week 1 was an absolute car crash, then by Week 5/6 his AS and QS were actually quite decent. Especially considering he really was too tall for Katya.

Just rewatched, dear god it's even worse than I remember. I thought he'd made it about halfway through before cocking it up, but nope. It all goes to hell within 5 seconds and he's staggering around like a drunk giraffe while poor Katya desperately screams instructions. 😂

It really is a minor miracle how good that Halloween QS was.

Katya worked miracles with Tony, for sure. He absolutely gave it all he had in terms of working so hard too. I loved him. And Katya is my favourite female pro. I think she is fabulous. She never takes the easy way out, when she gets someone who looks destined to be at the bottom of the leaderboard on a regular basis.
 
The best ‘worst to best’ for me is Natalie and Michael Vaughan. That jive is just perfect for all the wrong reasons. Out of time from the first swing of the axe. How she managed to get him from that to the Wembley showclosing fabulousness that was the American Smooth is nothing short of miraculous. But then, she always was a Goddess.

Yes, I adore Katya, she always puts 100% in no matter what. I remember she posted the rehearsal footage of that Tango on her stories, she was obviously gutted he'd made so many mistakes on the night when they both knew he could do better. And Tony never gave up even though the judges pretty much laughed at him every week.
 
Yes, that's all they did, laughed at him.
On the night he left, I think it was Craig who said oh you're what Strictly is all about, and Tony said it's a pity you didn't say that earlier. Something along those lines anyway.

I am looking forward to the announcements about who is doing it this year. And I hope a few lessons were learned, by well, pretty much everyone especially the judges and the producers from last year.

Nobody needs to be working themselves into the ground. Or derided for keeping to reasonable hours. Give them constructive feedback, and bear in mind it's light entertainment, basically.
 
I know Amy will be desperate to be back on Strictly this year but having watched a clip of her on Lorraine and a little bit of her Dare to Dance show, I have to say I think she's a really good presenter and comes across very well. Seeing her talk to Keren (I think that was her name), a mum of two who had cancer was so lovely, she is extremely warm and it felt like a really genuine conversation. I know she teaches dance as well, but if she is unable to return to Strictly full time, I think she'd have a fantastic career as a presenter.

I kinda like the idea of Amy getting an ITT slot like Ian Waite used to do.
 
I would love Matt and Emma Willis to take part. I have a real soft spot for them and they’ve been through lots together with his addiction battles. They have 3 kids though so both of them doing something with such a huge time commitment could be an issue. Emma Willis did some work with the company an ex worked for and they said that she is really lovely as well as being gorgeous.
 
The way Amy has been talking in interviews this year is that she wants/expects to have a partner this year so who knows how TPTB are going to handle it?
 
It just seems too much of a risk: has she even started dancing again? she's been out for over a year, she nearly died and is still probably experiencing after-effects of chemo plus broken bones. It seems too much pressure for her, unless they just bung her a Les-type.

On another note: looking at Gorka's insta, that back tattoo is horrific. The opposite of sex.

Personally I wouldn’t give her a partner, feels like too much of a risk given she’ll only be around 6 months post all clear. Would feel a little for Luba and Nadiya if they missed out, especially with how Luba did with Adam this year.
