I’m not watching CBB but saw on Twitter that Sharon (who is a terrible person) is getting called a legend while Ekin-Su is being lambasted left and right for being ‘fake’ etc.

She does seem annoying but this is why I hate most reality TV except Strictly (flashbacks to looking at the I’m a Celebrity thread here when Matt Hancock was on it and people defending him (‘seems like a nice bloke’) and slagging off Charlene White for being ‘rude’ to him).

Anyway, looks like Gio ain’t going anywhere. He’s wisely acknowledging that doing SCD allows him to do other stuff (at this point I imagine that’s its sole benefit for him)

Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice has clarified that he will not be leaving the BBC show in the wake of his rumoured row with Amanda Abbington.

It’s a PR move: he’s probably crapping himself that biting the hand that’s been feeding him will bite him in the arse of his other income streams, so we’re getting bombarded with publicity portraying him as a doting boyfriend and dedicated Strictly pro.

He might say that he doesn’t want to leave, but that’s only half of the contracting process. Has he done sufficient image-remediation work for the BBC to want him to stay?

He is sadly one of the more popular pros, so unless he does something truly awful he will stay if he wants to.

Anton racially abused one of his partners and it was swept under the carpet.
 
The FR probably has a contract made of iron. Though who knows - I'm not sure Sarah James is back as EP this year and I believe they were close, perhaps someone else will ditch him.

The thing that annoys me more really is the way people online (apart from here) are metaphorically sucking his d*ck. Saw one say "I hope he gets a winner not a whinger this year". Says it all really.

Oh yeah, I don’t think it’s very likely that the BBC will bin him off (not least because if they do it looks like a tacit admission that the Amanda issue was a definite ‘thing’), I just think it’s no coincidence that as we head towards the time when the contracts are usually negotiated/announced, FR is pulling out all of the stops to look as non-problematic and devoted to the show as he possibly can.

Even if he hadn’t cottoned on himself, someone must have pointed out that he hasn’t done himself many favours recently, so he’s unleashed a PR offensive just to be sure that TPTB aren’t pencilling a question mark next to his name.

Yeah and to make clear that if his contract isn’t renewed it’s not his choice so the Beryls will be activated to protest.

Perhaps nobody buying fannywater has made him realise that without strictly, ex on the beach beckons.

The main people calling Sharon a legend are her fellow housemates. They all seem to worship her, especially Ekin-Su who can't get her tongue out of Sharon's arse.
 
Whilst I don’t watch CBB Im pleased Nikita is coming across well.

Gio will probably try to stay on Strictly until something more lucrative comes along. Be intrigued to see if the next Anton and Gio travel thingy gets as many viewers as the first.

100% think it’s due to this. He’s put all his eggs in one basket with this ‘fragrance’ and now has realised no one is buying it and has probably lost loads of money, so will want to stick with the show. If said ‘fragrance’ had taken off he would ditch strictly. I’d imagine he’ll try and do more of those private classes with pasquale as I bet he makes a killing.

TBF, Gio isn’t the only one guilty of this - Gorka & Karen both seem to think for sure that they have a guaranteed spot each year. I can’t work out if it’s arrogance or a sneaky way of making it public that their eventual departure won't be their choice.

Ironically though, I don't think any of those 3 actually have much passion for Strictly any more.

I've never seen any comments like that from Gorka. I remember Karen did make a post that sounded quite arrogant a few months ago- something like just 'lol nope' to a question if she was leaving, but all of Gorka's comments I can remember from the last few years have been very carefully worded to make it clear he hopes to return but knows it's not up to him.
 
Gorka always seems to be diplomatic about whether he will be back or not. I don’t think he can help his resting face. I do think he still enjoys Strictly and he did give Nikita a good experience even though she was one of the first to go.

Karen just doesn’t seem to enjoy the partnering a celeb that much. I wonder if she would mind being benched.

Gio comes across to me as having disdain for the show and jealousy of Vito but still wants the prestige of being on Strictly to boast his career outside of it. I don’t think him leaving would affect the show one bit. None of the pros are above the show.
