Reality shows like CBB & I'm a celeb are always a risky move to go on because the editing is heavily manipulated to push whatever narrative & storylines they want to show. They can present a version of someone that is different to who they really are. But in saying that, I can't see Nikita coming across too badly. He has a wholesome vibe and I could see him being fun on the show.

Have any other pros ever done a show like this while still being on strictly? Only one I think of is Graziano on Celeb coach trip, but I wouldn't really put that in the same bracket as CBB in terms of how much it can impact someone's image.

If Nikita does well on this, the celebs will be fighting to be paired with him on this year's Strictly.

I honestly don’t find it painful. It’s amazing but I feel bad that the author is clearly not aiming to make me laugh my head off.

So if Nikita does go into CBB do we discuss it here or head across to the CBB thread?

Yes as much as I cringed when I saw he was doing it he appears to be a good guy, the only concern could be him fading into the background if there is drama. I could see him being a peacemaker in the house though as I think he has a high level of emotional intelligence.

I think seeing what he did with Layton last year the celebs would already be keen to be paired with him.

I think Nikita is like that annoying younger brother that goes off to uni and all of a sudden is really wise and kind of pulls the whole family together, thats how he came across to me anyway! He's one of the few pros that appears to get on with everyone and everyone seems to adore. He also seems quite grounded and very family orientated. He used to spend a lot of his free time with his sister. I hope he does well and it just boosts his name a little bit

I reckon he’ll stay and is doing CBB to give himself a bit of a name outside of Strictly, possibly to launch his own show? I wouldn’t be surprised if he and jowita did something together as they’ve done a few of these Donaheys weekends together which have worked well.

They definitely would. Saw a few clips of them dancing last night, they looked amazing. Plus they pair up a bit on the pro tour.

Definitely keep it on here, we just want to concentrate on him ( and Layton on l&l) . I love AJ too, but we’ll focus on the boys for this.

Way back when in the mists of time, Brendan did Celebrity Love Island. I remember his promo shot him being bare chested and a pair of white cropped trousers. He entertained with such things as fisticuffs(/handbags at dawn) in the back of a limo with Lee Ottaway and mounting an escape in his shreddies.

I wonder if Nikita is already making plans for a life beyond Strictly???

He had such a fabulous partnership with Layton, any other celebrity is going to be a treading water kind of thing (which is pretty much Gio territory)

He might be best to get out now before the show becomes a bore for him

Possibly, but he's only had 3 partners and has only reached one final, and never won so I doubt he'd be leaving anytime soon. I think he's trying to open doors for himself but I'd guess Strictly is still very much top of his list, given that it's a guaranteed income for 4 months.
 
Layton was more for Nikita what Danny Mac was for Oti and Alexandra Burke for Gorka, the golden opportunity for a newer pro to really make their mark. Both of those pros stuck around a while after those respective seasons and Oti even won twice. He'll probably never get someone quite as talented as Layton again (those types are very rare) but certainly Strictly has more to offer him.

Gio and Rose is different as that was his winning season after years of coming close and not doing it. I also don't think Gio has the same ability to make the most of non contenders like Nikita showed with Tilly & Ellie.
