I watched some of his old strictly dances when I got home. He was so fun and generous with his choreography. You know that whoever was partnered with him would have had a great time.

That is so nice. I hadn't realised Lauren was living with him last season. She must be devastated - it was her nan's funeral yesterday I think.

Reading Robin's own words about how leaving Strictly was a huge blow to him, and that nothing could really compare, you realise why so few pros choose to leave. The stability and camaraderie must be so reassuring and motivating.

It was officially confirmed by burn the floor late last night, James didn’t post about it until this morning so he was well within his rights. I really wish these people who are commenting and complaining would have a bit of common sense and respect. I don’t think many of us on this thread are fans of James but he did nothing wrong and is grieving a close friend.

I agree. I don’t understand what James is being criticised for: BTF announced the news, JJ posted his response to learning of the death of a colleague of four years (and likely an acquaintance/friend of far longer).

I don’t especially like the guy, but I’m not getting why JJ is supposedly in the wrong. Is it because he was (possibly) the first Strictly-connected person to comment? Someone had to be first, and I’m not sure anyone knows what the ‘correct’ pecking order is for things like this. 🤷‍♀️

Possibly because of the history between Robin and James when James lost his sh1t when Robin talked very openly about the Jordans

Would many people be aware of that? It seems to have passed me by completely and I’m pretty well-versed in Strictly shenanigans.
Though it’s hardly a rare occurrence to have been pissed off at someone at some point in the past yet still feel grief when they die.

On an unrelated, and more lighthearted note, I’ve just discovered that Gordana stars in ‘The Real Housewives of Slovenia’ and this has tickled me somewhat 😁
 
James Jordan is an obnoxious, belligerent prick. I would imagine he has probably had words at some stage with pretty much everyone he has ever met. That doesn’t mean that finding out one of his peers, someone he has probably known since they were kids competing in dance competitions isn’t going to hit him hard. I will criticise James Jordan for pretty much everything he does as I think he is an awful human but I won’t criticise him for posting about this. Burn the Floor posted it on Facebook 5 hours before James posted that he had seen something online that he really hoped wasn’t true. There are plenty of reasons to dislike James Jordan, I really don’t think this is one of them.

Yeah, this is more or less what I wanted to say.

Sure, JJ is a twit who has likely had an issue of some sort at some point with pretty much everyone he’s ever crossed paths with.

But it’s just not as simplistic as only being ‘allowed’ to grieve for someone so long as we never had a cross word with them while they were alive.

This is the dance I always think of when I think of Robin on Strictly (well, aside from the weird Anita Dobson foot-fetish AT and Devorah Meaden’s sub/dom boardroom VW), and I always think of this dance when I hear this song.
