Yikes this is a lot. I don’t know if his family wanted it out there. But she’s right to point out how hard a dancer’s life can be, and how precarious. When you move on from Strictly it must be so hard to put together a successful career and there is constant hustle. So many people loved him ❤

With all due respect it doesn't seem an appropriate time to be speculating the reasons behind the tribute he wrote for a lost friend.

Exactly, Amy and Karen have posted too. It can't be one rule for people we like and another for people we don't. He was his friend.

Oh god, what awful news rest in peace Robin I don’t think it’s fair to speculate on anyone saying anything wrong at this point. We don’t know when people found out & what conversations have happened behind the scenes between his friends & family. For all we know, given Robins openness about his MH struggles, he may have explicitly said to friends that he wouldn’t want the cause of his death to be a secret if he ever reached that point.

We don’t know. It’s heartbreaking & everyone must be so sad & shocked

Oh Kristina

The latter part of that posts resonates so much with me, I could have wrote that myself a few years ago when I lost a very good friend.
I didn’t write it though, it wasn’t the time or the place for my anger. I wanted to allow other loved ones to have their thoughts and just be comforted by an outpouring of love and sympathy.

I’m sure feelings are running very high with the people who knew and cared about him and they are in shock. It’s such an awful situation. I hope his loved ones have a good support network.

Conversations about suicide are tough but important. I did a mental health first aid course last week and I was horrified at the suicide statistics. I can’t remember the exact numbers but in 2020 in the UK roughly 5000 more people died by suicide than by road traffic accidents. People were shocked and asked whether Covid had an impact but the trainer said the statistics were consistent and similar for other years.

It’s heartbreaking to imagine someone being so low that they feel there is no other way out. If anyone reading this is feeling like this please reach out and talk to someone. You matter and things won’t always be like this ❤

That is such a shock and such devastating news. I don’t think there is any issue with the dancers posting about it before his family considering the official burn the floor page posted about it first. I’m assuming they had the families permission. Not sure Kristina should have revealed as much as she did but i’m not going to hold it against her as she’s obviously devastated and grieving, just so awful.

No, I don’t think anyone should hold it against her, shock and grief causes people to react in very different ways It’s just the world we live in now, it means we see and hear things that we may have been shielded from before.

Devastating news! May he RIP

I know he spoke quite openly about his mental health; I remember listening to a podcast he was a guest on and he spoke about a previous suicide attempt and how bad his MH got when he was let go from Strictly.

Everyone has their own opinions about people but I think it's times like these people need to reevaluate some of the things that get put out there regardless of what platform there put on.

It is just so sad. He clearly was a much loved and respected person from all the tributes that have been left for him from pro dances, celebs and friends. I loved his tweets lusting over Vito last year.

it’s a tiny anecdote in how lovely he obviously was: but i’ve never forgotten how attentive he was to chelsee healey after she had her wardrobe malfunction (can’t recall which dance), even pulling off his cravat so she could wear it like a shawl during her interview with tess.
