Went on my own last year to belfast (lots of travel and noone I knew was interested enough to do it). I was definitely nervous about going on my own but it was such a fabulous show and I definitely would’ve regretted not going!! I say do it
 
Looks like Ellie and Bobby were hanging out after the show. I guess it’s good that she has friends on tour if she and Vito are not hanging out. Hopefully some of the female pros will also take care of her. She looks fab anyway.

For all my frustration at how unfair the judges were when it came to Angela Rippon (I’ve never seen any ‘judging’ so obvious to get her to Blackpool where they came down on her like a ton of bricks once that box had been ticked) you can’t deny that she is pretty amazing. I think it’s great that she is able to do the tour. I remember how much confidence my Nan lost as she got older and her mobility reduced. On the show she was all made up and looked hard faced and ready to kill when she didn’t get the support she wanted (no poker face at all) but when you see her on her social media I feel she shows some vulnerability and is more relatable. It really brings home to you how amazing and kick ass she is.

I say go alone too. I considered it but was then talking to a friend about how I wanted to go and she said she’d come with me. She has never even seen an episode, she doesn’t watch British TV 😂

I think I worded this wrongly!!! Me and mum always go to shows together, especially strictly and this type of stuff.

But yes, being a carer means that I can't go to stuff that I used to - like AC-DC and other rock shows.

But then again, stadium gigs are so expensive now, I couldn't afford to go them anyway. Cheapest ticket for Bruce Springsteen was £250. A far cry from the £50 I paid maybe 10yrs ago.

My thoughts ( and I know you’ll rip me apart for this, but it’s my opinion based on seeing him live several times), he was a different man when he started strictly. He was in good shape, brimming with enthusiasm and paired up with a very attractive girl with huge potential. They worked hard and had incredible dance chemistry. In return she made him look hot, they just worked as a dance couple.
The live tour saw him with Maisie where he also could dance to a high level as she was so good. Pro tour he was basically the lead and still looked hot, especially with Luba, who Jason partners with him a lot as they really are incredibly comfortable with one another. Then there is Burn the floor the reunion , where Luba was yet again his partner for the whole show and my god, they were absolutely dynamic. The whole show was excellent ( amazing cast), but the rumba they did together was absolute 🔥.
Not sure why but by the time the next strictly started and he was lumped with Kaye it sort of went downhill…

Ran out time to add this:
Around that time he left Jason’s management, so not sure what was going on. Considering he had the blow of AJ being injured you’d have expected him to get a ringer, but he got the opposite. Nothing against Kaye but she was never going further than week 2. Then dropping out of Pro tour to do his own tour and not exactly pleasing Strictly with this ( yes I know that is actually true, I’m not saying how I know).
Why does he look like he’s aged rapidly the last year? Someone said Anton looked more spritely than him. I thought the same in the launch show dance - Anton outdanced him.
Kai, we know sexy, fast on your feet, enthusiastic 2021 Kai is in there somewhere….go and find him again!

It’s very easily solved tbh, he just needs a younger partner again. I don’t think he’s going down the Anton road in terms of being partnered with older celebs, I think Kaye was just the usual duffer after such a successful first series and then Angela they probably wanted with a classic ballroom pro like Kai (can’t ever imagine her dancing with Gio for example). It’s probably a sign that they value him highly as a pro and trust him so hopefully he gets someone under the age of 40 this year.

I also don’t really blame him for choosing his own tour over pro tour, there are multiple male pros that could have stepped in to replace him and they did exactly that. Gio only did the pro tour once and then focused on his own, obviously he’s a lot more popular than Kai but the pro tour isn’t always the main priority for them. The tours organized by Strictly are great but sometimes it’s better for pros to branch out and carve their own audience away from the show. I don’t think they sold out every show (many tours don’t) but from what I could see on social media most of their venues were pretty full. Lauren is doing the opposite … she’s focusing on Gio’s tour but I sometimes wonder if doing a couple of the Strictly tours would help solidify her popularity.

Katya put up an Instagram story of the start of Laytons quickstep saying ‘so brilliant to be part of such a phenomenal number’. High praise indeed from the Queen of choreography. Oh sorry the pros are all too busy being jealous of Gio the King of Snark.

Watching the boys teaching a load of kids is something else 🥰

I just felt that only one year on pro tour ( when he’d made such a big thing about how proud he was to be chosen) wasn’t enough. I think he rushed into doing a tour with Nadiya far too quickly. It didn’t sell well in many venues ( I did check out of curiosity) , the London one for example really struggled up to the day before, when the cast basically gave away tickets. 1 more year of establishing himself on the Strictly tours and then a joint tour would have made a lot more sense. Janette and Aljaz waited years before doing a joint tour, and were married. Kai and N had been going out 6 months! Can’t help thinking that living with Gio might have given him grandiose ideas , but then I’ll blame everything on Gio 🤣

Go, go, go! I haven't been to the tour but I often go to shows on my own.
Once you get absorbed in what's going on, as I am sure you would, you will forget whether there's anyone with you or not. 💃🕺
 
I am annoyed with myself. I allowed the over-marking of Angela to temporarily blot the admiration and affection I have held for her since childhood (I was a massive fan of her Victoria Plum books).

After seeing everyone else talk about how tired they are (no shade, they have all worked extremely hard),
Angela has gone even further up in my estimation. Endless energy, enthusiasm and professionalism, she is a magnificent role model.

Definitely do it.
Never been on my own as it’s mine and the MIL little day out but we have been going for a few years now and there are always people on their own and everyone chats to people sitting around them anyhow.

Yeah I do get that, but even though they didn’t sell out every venue their tour still seems to have done ok. When I was looking at tickets for Oti’s tour there were loads left for certain venues so sometimes with these shows that’s just how it is. The pro tour does seem like it would be fun but also very overwhelming to be stuck in close proximity with like 10 of the other pros for 2 months 🤣

She was a teenage female newspaper journalist in the early 1960’s … that woman is steel
