I’ve just watched it and think she came across really well. It’s perfect that Krishnan was the one who interviewed her.
I’ve never liked Bellendo so it wasn’t hard for me believe this right from the start. One thing that really never made me doubt my thoughts though was the reaction of the other pros. He seems to have had barely any interaction from them for ages whereas lots of them interact with Amanda. If you thought someone was setting up your colleague you would avoid them at all costs wouldn’t you? Pretty much all through the last series the only pro who interacted with him was Gorka. When Amanda went to the tour loads of them posed with her including Luba holding her hand who used to be close to Gio.

I wasn’t sure it was a good idea for her to do this interview but whatever she says she will be attacked. Why shouldn’t she stand up and say her piece?

I'm neither and it doesn't go down well with me tbh. That kind of comment just devalues your argument.
Absolutely, I find it offensive too but those are the people who are already unsympathetic and she's just making it worse.
Tbh she does come across as pretty dramatic. That doesn't mean I'm condoning anything Giovanni has done but from what we've heard it's not in the same league as what Graziano did to Zara who has handled the situation with strength and grace.

That was very clearly a joke, they both laughed at her being hyperbolic: 'in the trenches' is a common phrase. The Facebook Beryls loathe her anyway. And she clearly is traumatised, she could barely talk about some of it.

Also, can we PLEASE move on from this 'she's not a sympathetic witness/her tears look fake' whatever. Krishnan clearly believes her, and we have reason to believe the cast and pros do too. All of them know much more than we do.

Yeah the problem is she isn't a particularly sympathetic witness which rightly or wrongly doesnt help her. And the interview is very 'diana', with well timed tears, body language etc.

I'm sure bad things happened, and there is a lot about Amanda vs Gio that doesn't make sense from either side. But it all feels a little staged and dramatic.

Ew. Ew, ew, ew, EW.

She's received rape and death threats for her and her children, how the duck do you expect her to handle that with 'grace'? I'm no fan of Amanda and I've admitted myself I've struggled to believe her in the past but she's shown nothing but strength, someone very rightly pointed out to me before - look at everything that's come her way from pursuing this, she's a force to be reckoned with. People deal with things in different ways and you invalidating her trauma saying it's not as bad as Graz (emotional abuse can be just as bad if not worse than physical) is sick. Ugh this post, I can't even man.

FR spokesperson says that the allegations they have received bear no resemblance to what Amanda says. So what on earth are the allegations they received?

If I had any doubt about her claims, the interview, and Krishnan's comments and support, absolutely eradicated them. I hope FR never works again. She also says that 'five or six' people complained about him before her! so who didn't? Michelle, Debbie and Rose?

Full interview and transcript are here: https://www.channel4.com/news/amanda-abbington-on-strictly-experience-full-interview
You would think then, if he’s so certain of his innocence and her making spurious allegations, that he’s release the footage to her lawyer 🤷🏻‍♀️
Krishnan has just gone up another level on the Hos ladder. Love that man.

Alright, calm down. I assumed it would go without saying that rape and death threats are totally unacceptable and unjustified. I was referring to her response to what happened with Giovanni during training, not any threats she's received since. She hasnt even given any specific examples of what he's done so can we even categorise it as emotional abuse? I'm just saying, of all the celebs complaining she most fits the bill of the stereotype of 'pampered celeb can't handle criticism' that gets thrown around.

At the end of this clip she mentions FR being occasionally nice and then things going back to being ‘disastrously unworkable’

Krishnan doesn’t look surprised at all

BBC: “When issues are raised with us we always take them extremely seriously.”

But that’s simply not true. If we’ve learned anything over the last weeks it’s that there has been a litany of complaints over the years, and seemingly little to nothing has ever actually been done to address them.

Only watched a short clip of Amanda talking but wondering why she doesn’t actually say what Gio did? She said he bullied her but doesn’t say what the bullying was? Is she legally not allowed to or is it just too traumatic for her?

she said that she couldn’t because the enquiry is still ongoing. and ultimately she doesn’t need to prove herself to “us” so that “we” can hear examples and categorise them.

something obviously went down that has impacted her massively, and i don’t know if it’s fair to her or zara to start trying to compare and contrast their experiences because one has apparently handled it with more “grace” than the other or it wasn’t “in the same league”.

she says that she can’t because the enquiry is apparently still happening but does say that bbc staff were shocked by the footage.

Omg Krishnan said he heard from somoene else about humilating behaviour of a sexual nature towards Amanda by FR. The most damning claim yet in that he is corroborating her account. What a bleeping prick FR is. I feel so so sorry for Amanda.

Bloody hell.

How can the BBC keep pretending that this is all revelatory, when it’s clear that crappy behaviour has been an open secret all along? 😡

So I guess FR got wind that this interview was going to air, which is why he’s been dripping the ‘close to being cleared’ rumours to the press, to try to undermine it before it went public.

I'm pretty horrified by how neglectful the BBC has been over 20 years of a show that is its bread and butter. This is the kind of tit that makes me not to watch - why should we honour a show that ignores complaints and brushes issues under the carpet? Feels so wrong to reward them with ratings for pretending to be all surprised-Pikachu about abuse and bullying complaints both new and historical while their pros do manic grin laden "I'm alright Jack" posts.

I didn’t even know this thread existed until today! I’m a Jake Quickenden follower. it’s his biggest begging wish to do Strictly! I’m a huge strictly fan!
AA is an actress as we know. I’ve not watched her interview, I forgot. I’ve been sceptical about her claims until recently, surely she wouldn’t relentlessly pursue this without reason and other “celebrities“ claiming similar issues.

I didn't and still don't know much about Amanda but the media and some of the public were already after her before she had even done one dance, FR knew even if she was the best celeb dancer of all the series she would not win.
The BBC have obviously tried to keep a lid on a lot of things that have been brought to their attention and the media are loving what is happening as it is easy click bait headlines and increased viewers.
Also still love Krishnan.

I am absolutely sure Katie Hinde at the Mail has already had a call about the next pro-Gio story. Shame he dumped his gf and the dog is gone.

What I can't understand is the leaked story in the Mail I think that he was about to be cleared and other dancers etc had been interviewed but nobody saw anything. And Amanda (and Krishnan) basically saying all the cast at least knew, as well as the producers. One side is lying.

This whole thing is horrible. It’s left me with a really uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, especially when you compare Amanda’s interview to the ‘look at us all one big happy family’ facade that continues to be promoted by the bbc. I imagine they are going to come out and say there isn’t enough evidence to condemn the Bellendo which is why Amanda has done the interview- good for her for getting her side out there and good for lovely Krishnan for supporting her.

I've only watched the clips shared on here so far, but my heart went out to Amanda. Whatever your opinion of her, it's clear she went through a horrible time in training which has affected her quite badly. That's so far removed from what the Strictly experience should be that it's like night & day. I'm not so naive that I believe it's all sunshine, roses & lifelong friendships, but no-one should feel humiliated, abused or exploited in their place of work (that goes for celebs & pro's alike).

A bit disappointing to read a few posts on here which hint at victim-blaming and/or acting re. that interview. I thought Krishnan conducted it perfectly and I hope it will lead to the BBC finally contacting Amanda to apologise or to explain their processes.

Also, I notice Graziano still hasn't publicly apologised to Zara so I'm giving him major side-eye for that too. 🤨

I think Krishnan, as a long standing journalist known for his integrity, who had an amazing life affirming experience with Strictly, standing by Amanda is huge. The pricks won’t change their mind whatever happens. There could be video footage of him kicking her head in and some people would question what she had done to upset him.

I really do think this could change how some people have been viewing the situation. This young strictly fan has been vocal on social media about her dislike for Amanda since before the show started. She posted lots of tweets today clearly feeling aggrieved that she was getting a chance to say her piece but has recently posted this TikTok. I know it’s only one person but it has given me some hope that some of these people attacking and victim blaming may give their heads a wobble.
