Having said that, the dinosaur sandwiches were a bit much. Not normal for a 20 year old.

I feel like dinosaur sandwiches are probably very normal for Dianne.

Footwork is vital in Cricket(batting) and Tennis (most sports to be fair but those particularly) so I'm surprised that people are surprised that Annabel was decent.

Well, after witnessing Andrew Castle, Dan Lobb, Judy Murray and Martina Hingis on the show, I think anyone with eyes could be forgiven for setting the bar fairly low where the tennis contingent is concerned.

I just noted it in relation to Layton's dance experience being brought up twice already by week 1, while Amanda's isn't mentioned and Nigel's mentioned but downplayed, seems a little unfair, but I suppose he's not likely to get a lot of votes regardless so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Layton & Nigel both have well-documented professional experience in musical theatre. I haven’t seen anything to suggest that Amanda has ever done anything similar, so I can’t see why dance lessons as a child would be remotely comment-worthy, unless they’re going to start listing every dance class that every contestant has ever taken 🤷‍♀️

The ‘previous dance experience’ carping is tedious as hell anyway. Who on earth wants to sit through 2.5 hours of dancing of the calibre of Jacqui Smith? 😖

She's never had anyone a similar age to Bobby unless you count Joe who was 7 years older than him when he was on the show and even then TPTB infantilized him with a High School musical routine. I mean the dance on Saturday was joint second best in score and he's second in the strictly spoiler online poll so it seems it was enjoyed a lot by the public. I think he could pull off a more serious, mature routine too; it's just waiting to see if they get given the song and theme for that.
I don’t mean Dianne in particular but more so the choreo and themes given to celebs of a similar age to Bobby. I think some pros play up to having a young partner with their routines and all of their dances end up looking the same with identical themes of cheerleading and high school love stories. I know it’s only been one week and Dianne may have a collection of sultry, mature routines up her sleeve for Bobby😩

i feel oddly protective of her! even though i know she could handle her own brilliantly. i dont like the thought of the vitriol aimed at them sometimes online for no other reason than it brings knobbers joy to do so.
I followed her on IG when there was a buzz about Line of Duty and she posted a story asking for recommendations on things to do for her nephew’s birthday. Tattlers know that that’s secret for ‘hit me up with some freebies’ and even though thousands of people do that kind of thing daily, it put me right off her. I kind of thought a bit more of her than that.

But if that’s the ‘worst’ she can do - and I think she’s a pretty inoffensive and quite a genuine person overall - I think she’d fare quite well. She is maybe just too busy or doesn’t think she needs a career boost yet

Well if Dianne does have a collection of sultry, seductive routines up her sleeve for Bobby I don't want to see them with that age gap 🤢
The only way I could see that working would be if movie week she plays Mrs Robinson and he played the graduate

It would be weird if they went down the sultry and mature route after her going to town on him being her little brother and acting like he's four on his first day of school.

I don't think sultry or mature are really in Dianne's wheelhouse - plus if she does anything sexy or coupley-romantic, the weird Sluggettes will come for her.

Apparently Angela R still goes to a ballet class, but her dance training is irrelevant because it was so long ago - ok. 👍🏻🙃
Layton is going to have it held against him by the public, as well as just being himself.

People who want to vote for Layton will vote for Layton - I'll certainly chuck him a vote if he impresses me and I think the public won't be on his side.

Ringer warz is pointless really. If you want somebody to stay in the competition, vote. You can't control what others think.

Don't most of them cling to each other like limpets though? I'm not sure anyone with a problem with it has signed up for the right show 😂
This is honestly one of the things that annoys me most on Strictly. I might be about to make myself sound insane but if my partner did strictly, it wouldn't be so much the dancing with another woman I'd be upset about (although I wouldn't be thrilled about it tbh and I bet a lot of them aren't either), it's the constant arms around each other that they do when it's not necessary.

When Gorka was stood with his arm around Nikita I was thinking that if I was Gemma, sat at home only a few weeks postpartum, I'd be bleeping fuming! The dancing is part of the job but that isn't. I can't remember who it was but on the launch show interviews with Claudia, one of the male celebs had his hand resting on his pro partners thigh while they were sat together- maybe I'm just a prude but how is that not something that should be reserved just for your romantic partner??

I completely understand why marital issues sometimes arise, it seems like when people go on Strictly they enter a bubble where normal relationship boundaries go out of the window

Know what you mean but it's all for show and to perpetuate this idea that they are just one big happy family where everyone loves each other. I'm sure in reality (and as we've seen over the years like with Karen and Jayde), once the camera stops rolling it's a different matter and hopefully real life partners know the actually score and that's it's just part of the performance.

I would imagine that’s when it’s easier to have a partner in the entertainment business(/be involved in it yourself). You can separate the reality of ’been for a ciggie break again? … you stink’ from all the lovey, darling, mwah, mwah stuff and accept the performance closeness as just being part of an ensemble cast putting on a show.

(of course at some point there are going to be actual relationships. It’s been going for 20 years now and what at least 250-300 celebs are going to have passed through the doors. Just the law of averages says that some will tip over but I bet more come out relieved to not be spending all day with each other than not).

Another Instagram story from nadiya regarding not having a partner this year, I appreciate she’s going to have lots of messages about it and her message was lovely but it’s become a bit dramatic now. Neil has been benched too and Luba spent years on the bench, not digging her out nor am I some crazed AJ fan by any means before that accusation comes around again but I hope she can just go forward enjoying the series without having to keep posting about it
