Caught up on last night’s show😍😍loads of potential from nearly everyone!! I really hope Bobby and Dianne mix it up a bit as the cutesy, innocent teenagers-in-love Waltz was so predictable.

I mean it was only the first dance and they don't get to choose the song of the theme; I'm sure they will get to do other themes in the future (if TPTB let them).

I wonder who the guests will be on ITT first? I'm looking forward to see Fleur on it and seeing what she's like as a presenter.

I know, I'm just thinking of instances with celebs of a similar age to Bobby who had potential but ended up with a barrage of really vanilla, forgettable routines. I'd love to see Dianne really push him with technical, traditional choreography!! He shows quite good range on Eastenders so I think he could pull off more mature, serious routines too.

She's never had anyone a similar age to Bobby unless you count Joe who was 7 years older than him when he was on the show and even then TPTB infantilized him with a High School musical routine. I mean the dance on Saturday was joint second best in score and he's second in the strictly spoiler online poll so it seems it was enjoyed a lot by the public. I think he could pull off a more serious, mature routine too; it's just waiting to see if they get given the song and theme for that.

I think Bobby will need to prove himself with someting more technical if he wants to stay in. Joe Sugg got that much more classic A Chorus Line routine.

Nigel will get to the final but I suspect he won't win. Usually, this is what happens when someone is too good from the start. Layton I suspect will be a bit of a one-trick pony and will be in the dance-off on a regular basis. Like Fleur with her constant hip-hop inspired routines - she managed to go with the style and flow more for her samba, which was fantastic, but then went back to her usual Beyonce schtick.

To be fair, even some athletes have dance training … not the likes of Jody/cyclists … but friends daughter is a cricketer and has been encouraged to take ballet lessons.
Footwork is vital in Cricket(batting) and Tennis (most sports to be fair but those particularly) so I'm surprised that people are surprised that Annabel was decent.

Fleur & Janette are so mismatched visually! Janette is absolutely tiny & Fleur is, well normal sized I imagine! I was genuinely surprised how tiny Janette still is after just having a baby! She really only put weight on her stomach didn’t she!

I hope they are OK as presenters. It’s kinda odd having a show hosted by two non-presenters! 😕
Fleur does a radio show, is that not presenting?

Ah yes, Fleur’s infamous Beyoncé waltz, quickstep, VW, jive, Paso.. I did feel her waltz to Formation was a bit much but Anton certainly loved it..:)

Nigel could easily be a Kelvin - wins it in week 1. He’s protected by Layton’s ringeriness and from what I can see on SM, appeals to both grans and younger women/gays. All the SCD demographics!

Any form of dance experience, whether it’s the likes of Debbie McGee’s professional ballet career, Caroline Flack’s dance/musical theatre background, or Denise van Outen ‘sitting on a chair’ in Chicago, is barely ever mentioned on the show, so I cannot imagine vast swathes of the audience feeling ‘lied to’ if they find out that an actor did ballet as a kid but it was never formally declared on the show. 🤷‍♀️

Angela S had professional Irish dancing training, Les has been touring in 42nd Street, most actors/performers have had dance lessons at some point. Even pretty much every woman (and a few men) I know has done some sort of dance class at some point. Finding 15 celebrities each year who have never had so much as a single dance lesson at any point in their lives is a Herculean task.

I just noted it in relation to Layton's dance experience being brought up twice already by week 1, while Amanda's isn't mentioned and Nigel's mentioned but downplayed, seems a little unfair, but I suppose he's not likely to get a lot of votes regardless so I guess it doesn't really matter.

I feel like Nigel is already annoyed to duck with her and I thought he looked very uncomfortable with her at most points once they’d finished dancing.
Having someone constantly hanging off me like a leech whilst I was being interviewed would annoy me too.
Don't most of them cling to each other like limpets though? I'm not sure anyone with a problem with it has signed up for the right show 😂

Dancers are the most touchy feely people on the planet, closely followed by Actors. I think he’s fine with it.

I watched the show with my mum and to her Bobby is just 'Jade Goody's son', which is strange considering to her Nigel is Dennis Rickman 🤔
Also, Nikita was Stacey Solomon and no convincing as otherwise 😂
And as soon as I mentioned Zara being associated with Love Island, there was a roll of the eyes and a conveniently timed toilet break
She did look like Stacey

Just caught up with everyone’s dance and the threads - bit late to the party as have spent 36 hours licking the TV screen and wondering if I could get myself into this position in front of Nikita. 🥵
