Caroline Flack was one of the celebrity partners on Strictly one off spin off Dancing on Wheels (Judges both Jordans and Ade Adepetian) and had tutoring with Lord Brian Fortuna of Dsrkness and Kristina. She and her wheelchair partner won and actually went on to represent the UK in a World or European Championship 4 or 5 years before she went in actual Strictly. This was never mentioned. 😀

I’d completely forgotten about all of that! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I genuinely think that overall, discounting a few sports people and retired politicians, the some dance/no dance whatsoever balance will be tipped decisively in favour of ‘some dance’. Even Baron von Biscuits had a dance background.

And that before we even consider those who (sensibly, IMO) sneak some private lessons in as soon as they sign up for the show.

To be fair, even some athletes have dance training … not the likes of Jody/cyclists … but friends daughter is a cricketer and has been encouraged to take ballet lessons.
 
Fleur & Janette are so mismatched visually! Janette is absolutely tiny & Fleur is, well normal sized I imagine! I was genuinely surprised how tiny Janette still is after just having a baby! She really only put weight on her stomach didn’t she!

I hope they are OK as presenters. It’s kinda odd having a show hosted by two non-presenters! 😕

Fleur did a degree in journalism and has been presenting on tv and radio for ages, she’s more experienced than Janette.

My mum:

Strictly Come Dancing = Strictly Keep Dancing

Len Goodman = Les Goodwin (Didn’t they do a lovely tribute to Les Goodwin?)

And a bonus one: Downton Abbey is STILL DownTOWN Abbey, even after 6 years of her being a huge fan. 😑

Someone asked in the previous thread about Lauren and her background. She was Under 21 British National Champion, having competed from childhood ( I think she has a Juvenile British Champion win as well). She spent many years with Burn the Floor and was Kai’s partner there for a few years, they have known each other since they were kids competing . She’s then toured with Gio and Anton and been Gio’s leading lady for the last two years and is doing next year’s Gio tour as well. Having seen Made in Italy this year, she really is an incredible dancer, the Burn the floor training really does make a huge difference.
