I like Layton and think that his confidence is seen as him having a big ego. I think he just loves what he does and he wouldn’t be where he was today if he didn’t show his talent. There was a tv series on CBBC years ago about Italia Conti and it showed Layton. He stood out then because of his talent and determination. I just want to see him dance! It would be terrible to have to watch a bunch of Anne Widdecombe’s just to make it fair. 😩 It’s also difficult these days to find people in the entertainment industry who didn’t dance, sing or act as children.

Nadiya is allowed to be disappointed, but I hope she remembers that she is not in Amy Dowden’s shoes.
 
I think Nikita’s new girlfriend posted a photo of Nikita and Joe Sugg at Joe and Dianne’s strictly launch party. I don’t think he’s gone public with her yet.
 
Thoughts after watching the launch show

- I don't know how anyone who knew of Bobby before thought he belonged with anyone but Dianne. She's a bit short for him but other than that they're obviously the best personality match. Two laidback, goofy, ditzy peas in a pod. Can't imagine why anyone thought he should have Nadiya or Katya. He also doesn't strike me as someone who's going to try very hard, so I don't think Dianne's choreography's really going to hinder him.

- I'm glad Luba has a partner but she and Adam seem a very odd match. I fear for her sanity stuck with him but I don't want her going out early either...

- Eddie and Karen seem very well suited for each other and I'm hoping they do some great Latin.

- My first thought when I saw the pairing spoilers was that I'd switch Layton/Nikita and Angela/Carlos around, but I'm coming around on it. Really looking forward to seeing what Nikita will do with the choreography and crossing my fingers and toes it's better than (most) of Johnannes' for John. (Other than their Paso, they didn't really wow me.)

- Ellie and Vito are adorbs, I hope they go far. Zara and Graz seem well matched and to be a fun pair too.

- Nikita and Gorka are my bet for first out. Seems nice enough but a bit annoying and I don't see her being much of a dancer.

- Amanda and Gio is a very odd one. I just can't get a read on them at all. He seems more enthused about her than Richie but surely she's not going to be all that great? Has she got some secret dance experience or is he just trying to claw back some goodwill by pretending to be excited? He didn't seem to give a tit what anyone thought of his behaviour before. I just can't make a prediction if they'll get along or hate each other, be amazing or be terrible, they're just a weird swirling vortex of question marks.

- Tentatively hopeful that Layton seems to be irritating me a bit less than I expected he would? He seems sweet and not as loud and OTT as I expected, lol.

- Nigel perhaps playing the long game and trying to downplay his previous dance experience? Or perhaps not going to be as good as expected? For the time being I like him and hope Katya choreographs some amazing routines for him. Joe's samba, quickstep and foxtrot are some of my favourite and most rewatched dances.

- I'm most looking forward to seeing Angela and Carlos, Nigel and Katya and Layton and Nikita dance.
