Same sex couples on strictly don't bother me, but at same time I don't feel 'represented' either. It's dancing, not a love or sex thing. Its not as though the dancing/performing arts world is under represented with gay people anyway.

Hopefully nikita is able to come up with something better than Johannes constant side by side stuff with John though.
I respect that, but I do feel a bit represented. I mean, it's not like I was crying out for same sex couples before they happened, but when when they did I got a little bit of comfort out of it.

I agree with you regarding the side by side stuff though, that was annoying. If I ever dance with my partner we face each other, just like opposite sex couples do. I'm not saying we're amazing, though. 🤣

Yeah I get that, and that just shows the diversity of opinions withing community and that's great. I'm sick of self elected 'im representing all the gay community'. Like straight people, we don't all act and think the same and definitely don't need one overall champion.

I think it would be better if they didn't seem.so , scared of same sex dancing? If you're going to do it, do it properly. Not side by side. I think one of the best same sex dances was gorka and graziano ( I think) in a group dance a few series back.

Yeah, the side-by-side thing is a problem that a lot of the same-sex couples seem unable to bypass and it often ends up looking a bit end-of-pier.

Oh Lord, was this article written by a KJ stan? (As an aside, I wonder where this year's showmance will come from? the single pros are (AFAIK) Nikita, Carlos, Gio, Johannes, Luba, Katya, and possibly Vito. Whereas I think the single celebs are Bobby, Ellie, and then maybe Layton, Nikita, Eddie).

The second I see “according to the sun” i’m clicking off the article. Journalism is so embarrassing these days, why the duck would they contact Kai & Nadiya’s reps over them apparently kissing at rehearsals lmao hardly breaking news is it 🤣

Don't feed the trolls darling! I'm so excited to see Nikita and Layton dance.

To be fair no one side by sided more than Lisa Riley and Robin. Their week one dance was reprised about 4 times .

I’m just pleased that celebs are able tI have a choice, whether they take it up or not.

I’ve blocked the entirety of Lisa & Robin from my memory! I literally forgot either of them were ever on the show until just now 😄

Not to give Dave Th*rp any publicity, but his site has a poll on who people liked. I think his polls usually end up being reasonably accurate as a barometer. No surprise I guess:

Bobby first but then Annabel (?), Layton, Nigel, Angela S., Ellie.

Jody, Les, Krishnan bottom. Doesn't mean people will vote in that order though once they see the celebs in action..

I feel like the only one who didn't take to Bobby (I'd never heard of him before). He seemed like he was either drunk or half asleep, there was just something off about him 🤷

He seemed like a nice lad, I just found him a bit awkward to watch - even with it being pre-recorded, and even in the heavily-edited introduction VT where he didn't need to bounce off anyone else. Could be an age thing or a nerves thing, but I have a feeling he'll be someone whose post-dance interviews I wince through.

I think he could be a bit of a loose cannon on live to TV. Especially with all the adrenaline pumping.
