i just watched his speech and absolutely.

if he has even a hint of rhythm then he’s going straight to the final imo. one of those perfect storms of a male contestant already (in classic strictly style, his story wouldn’t work for a female contestant).

I do really like Fleur & Janette, just not sure on their presenting skills. I agree about HRVY too, Bill was great but I feel like he would never have won if we weren’t all stuck in lockdown and wanting a feel good winner.

maisie should have won that year imo. she had one of the strongest finals ever - but was just undone by stage school like many before her

i liked bill but he absolutely would never have won in another year.

I actually think Maisie would have been a good winner - in the end, Jamie picked up the lowest amount of votes going into the final (probably by some distance) so in theory, that should have allowed her to coast along nicely to winning or at least being 2nd to HRVY. But I guess Bill just really charmed people.

Wish Vito was around to be Maisie's partner then, I think they'd have been a cracking partnership.

i go back to so many of her dances. her quickstep is one of my favourites. but she was never winning: people were in twitter saying she was a trained ballet dancer

she and vito would have been a great pairing (i also think she would have been really fun with nikita). that being said, i think gorka was really good at lifting her after that many undeserved dance offs.

My only wish this year is that we can have it be a more competitive series; we haven't had it like that since the 2018 series. From 2019 onwards it been decided by week 4 (even earlier) who's won it and it's just gone a bit stale for me for this reason. I don't care who's partnered with who, what happens, lets just have it be a bit more competitive in terms of the competition.

I'm hoping that this year we don't see a 9 or 10 paddle until waaaaay, way into the competition. Last year the marking was ridiculous with celebs and pros acting crestfallen as if a 7 was a death sentence due to being given stupidly high marks so early

And have a bit of variety. Not songs that have been used in the last at least 5 years and not 3 jives and 4 quicksteps in one week

Yeah Helen did give Hamza a run for his money towards the end from musicals week but I still think it was pretty much wrapped up for him from week 4; the voting figures were probably closer compared to the Rose, Bill and Kelvin years.

I think last year highlighted that especially; I'm sure some contestants did the death slot a few times more than others as well like Molly and Tyler??

That said, I loved Charles and Karen's stylistic Street dance number but since then it's grown adults jumping around remembering when they had too many sweeties at the pick n mix in Woolworths and it's horrible.

We were blessed with none last year so I'm really hoping contemporary is gone unless Les Dennis wants to do an ironic Family Fortunes themed contempowaft in which case our survey says ding ding!
