Yeah it’s been a bit of a plateau for him compared to the other two finalists who’ve done amazingly well from it. I suppose it’s about many factors: personality, good agent/pr , just the right job at the right time etc.
 
Is this a hint that Katya has met her celeb?

Because he’s getting paid. Balanced against the income from teaching and selling his love life to trashy mags, even as a non-partnered pro the fee is a nice little earner without a massive weekly time commitment. Certainly far more than the average dancer will be earning on a weekly basis.

I remember in the early days of Strictly, the dance lesson fees for the Pro’s Of The Tele skyrocketed and their teaching diaries filled up nicely. Then there’s the Cruises and the various tours that come along … and like I say, Neil is 41 which is pushing the upper limit to be a competing pro anyway. A nice, secure backroom position as a Gilkeson elf isn’t to be sniffed at.
